Enjoy the winter sunrise!

With the cablecar Speikboden and the chairlift Sonnklar it goes up to 2.400m in the early morning, right in the middle of the Ahrntal mountains. Once arrived at the top, you have the opportunity to hike to the Sonnklar Cross, which is only 10 minutes away, or you can enjoy the first sunrays directly at the panoramic tower.

The restaurant Sonnklar and the Schüsslerhof offer you a breakfast afterwards - registration for the breakfast required!

For the first track on the slopes, it can be used the cablecar Speikboden, the conveyor belt "Tottomandl" and the chairlift Sonnklar during continuous opening hours. No special ticket is necessary for this, all regular lift tickets are valid (which can be booked online or purchased at the ticket office even on the day of the special ride). All other lifts will open at 08.30 am.

A look behind the technical systems of the ski area with snow pioneer Georg Eisath

Forty years ago he built the first snow guns in South Tyrol; today Georg Eisath leads a guided ski tour offering insight into the core systems of snowmaking and slope preparation at the Carezza Dolomites ski area. A unique opportunity to explore the technical infrastructure of Carezza Dolomites on site.

From the Moseralm, the tour continues on skis to the pumping station of the reservoir basins, where participants learn about energy-efficient snow production and innovative slope-grooming technology. On the subsequent sections of the slopes, Georg Eisath presents additional projects focusing on efficiency improvements, digitalization, and sustainable resource management within the lift company.

The tour concludes at 4:00 p.m. at Hotel Moseralm. All participants can easily return to their starting point using the lifts and ski runs.
Participation note

The tour focuses on technical procedures, energy systems, and infrastructural processes of the ski area. Due to its in-depth content, it is particularly suitable for technically interested teenagers and adults. Younger children may find the experience less suitable.

Discover how snowmaking works and the dedication behind preparing the slopes; feel the excitement of riding in a snowcat and see firsthand the craft of the snow groomers. The final appointment will take you behind the scenes with exclusive access to Badia's brand-new cable car. This experience is recommended for adults and will be held in Italian and German. Like a snowball that expands as it rolls, in this workshop we will intertwine tributes and references to John Cage, Remy Charlip and Bruno Munari to let ourselves be enchanted by the evocative and narrative power of white and silence. Please come dressed in white, leave your colours at home (for one day) and bring a white object with you! An all-white ÓPLab awaits you, where silence will speak and you will imagine and see the story hidden beneath the blanket of snow.

Our experienced guide, Felice Squeo, will give you a deeper insight into the development of traditional costumes. Come by from 1:00 PM and let yourself be inspired by this unique experience. The tour takes place in German and Italian.

The guided village tour in Kastelruth gives you the chance to discover the history and culture of the place. The tour takes you through the picturesque and lively village, famous for its charming alleys and historic buildings. Along the way, you’ll explore the main sights and monuments and hear fascinating stories about the area. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy a cup of mulled wine at the Hotel Zum Turm and chat with others about your impressions. The tour is held in German and Italian.
