Have you ever seen the inside of a hydroelectric power plant? Do you know how eco-friendly electricity is generated from water? The Passeiertal Valley is one of the most water-rich valleys in South Tyrol. For decades, the power of water has been harnessed here to produce sustainable energy in numerous hydroelectric power stations. On a hike from St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo along part of the impressive Passer Gorge "Passerschlucht", you'll have the opportunity to visit the Gomion power plant. During an exciting guided tour, Sepp will tell you more about the history and technology of the facility – you'll get first-hand insight into how clean electricity is generated from water. Along the way, we'll stop for a break at the Hinterbruggerhof inn and enjoy a traditional "Marendebrettl" with regional specialties. After this cozy rest, we'll head back to St. Leonhard/S. The guided excursions about the cestnut to Glaning/Afing will start every Thursday at 10 a.m. at the tourist office of San Genesio. During this excursion, you will learn many secrets about the cultivation of these precious autumn fruits admiring the colorful chestnut trees. There will be breaks with local product tastings at the "Törggelen" restaurants of San Genesio. Registration is required: within 12 noon of the previous day, by telephone or by e-mail contacting the Tourist Office S. Genesio.

Hidden in the upper Passeiertal Valley at 2,355 meters lies the historic Schneeberg mine. It was once the largest ore mining area in Europe. Since 1967, operations have ceased. Join hiking guide Franz on this exciting tour and learn first-hand about the history of mining and the tough lives of the miners. After the ascent, we'll stop at the mountain hut in St. Martin am Schneeberg for a well-deserved lunch. Afterwards, we'll explore the adventure mine and experience the tunnels up close. Walking time: approx. 4.5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 680 m in ascent and approx. 800 m in descent The event will be in German and Italian.

On october 11th the last load of grapes is brought to the Tannerhof in a tub. Once at the Tannerhof, the grapes are pressed in a historic wine press and the fresh grape must is offered to visitors for tasting.

Experience the “Almabtrieb” in Terento! The ceremonial driving of cattle and sheep from the green pastures back to their home farms and warm barns is a long-standing tradition in Terento. For over 100 cows, calves and sheep this event marks the end of their stay in altitude where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air, tasty grass and cool nights. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths, fresh flowers and ornate whetstone holders and they are driven down the valley by their herders. Plünderfuhren (procession floats), Goaslkrocha (whip crackers), Schuhplattlern (folk dancers) und and musical entertainment.

We cordially invite you on Saturday at 10:00 am at the village square, enjoy a "Weißwurst" with sweet mustard and pretzels at the morning get-together with music in the middle of the historic village facades.

The Taufers market - small, cosy and good The traditional autumn market in Taufers in Münstertal is back. It will take place again on 11 October 2025 at the Fliri Dane square in the village centre. On 11th October 2025, the traditional cattle drive will once again take place in Rodeneck. The festivities will begin at 11.00 a.m at the Spritzenhütte in Nauders, where you can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and delicious regional specialties. Around noon, the beautifully adorned cattle will make their way to the Spritzenhütte, accompanied by traditional music – a sight to behold for all ages. The local farmers’ youth and women will provide a variety of tasty local dishes and refreshments. Entertainment will be provided by the "Woazgruiba" band, while the "Ronegga Schuichplattla" will captivate the audience with their lively traditional dance performances. A special highlight of the day is the prize milking competition, where skill and speed come into play. Join us for a day of tradition, music, and culinary delights in the heart of Rodeneck – a celebration for the whole family!

Like around 30 other churches, monasteries, and chapels along the "Alpine Road of Romanesque Art," the round church of St. Georgen in Schenna will take part in the "Days of the Romanesque" on October 11 and 12, 2025. The church is one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture and painting in the Alpine region and is one of only three preserved round churches in South Tyrol. Particularly impressive are the late Gothic winged altar by Hans Schnatterpeck and the 14th-century frescoes depicting scenes from the martyrdom of Saint George. In Val Casies Valley, in the village of S. Maddalena, the traditional "Kirschta" (church day) is celebrated in autumn. We particularly recommend the "Original Obolola Almabtrieb" on Saturday afternoon. The farmers, dressed in traditional costumes, bring their livestock, such as cows, sheep and goats, directly from the mountain pastures back down to the valley. The animals are lavishly decorated with flowers, wreaths and bells. At the end of the valley, there is traditional food and musical entertainment until the end of the festival. On Sunday, the Kirchtag is celebrated with the traditional morning pint in the Club house from S. Maddalena with traditional music and local, regional specialities.

Let us spoil you with exquisite delicacies to a musical sound. When preparing the dishes, we place special emphasis on using local products from Vöran and the surrounding villages. The Vöran church choir looks forward to hosting you at this special celebration of autumnal delights!

The Marling table tennis club invites you to the traditional "Törggelen" Festival on Sunday, October 12, from 10:00 to 18:00 on the Marling fairground. Look forward to a day full of enjoyment and good vibes! 🎉 The morning pint starts with the best entertainment from the Marling/Tscherms youth band, followed by another rousing music group. Food and drink are well catered for! Roasted chestnuts, sweet wine and homemade cakes await you from midday. The event takes place in all weathers. Connoisseurs and friends of South Tyrolean cuisine should not miss the Törggelefest! Traditional dishes, roasted chestnuts and new wine, as well as musical entertainment on the town hall square in Naturno. Start 10.30 am. Admission free! In case of bad weather the event is canceled.

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. at the elementary school of Avigna. There will be a lots of tasty local delicacies with roasted chestnuts.

It is probably the most beautiful pilgrimage across the whole Alpine region: when autumn is at its most colourful, on the second Sunday in October, the villagers of Ortisei go up to the Chapel of San Giacomo. The location itself is heavenly: the chapel and the visitors look out across the Sassolungo from a spot on the steep mountain forest. From here, the mountain comes across like a cathedral of nature. Blessed as one is after a view like this, on Monday go to the traditional Segra Sacun market. Here it's all about the more earthly delights. The whole pedestrian zone is a lively market square, where walking through can be a bit difficult at times. Culinary delights, craftsmanship, carved and painted, are on offer. Another old tradition takes place in the market place: men ripe for marriage will buy a pear at the market, which they will decorate with a ribbon and give as a present to their chosen one. During Easter the following year, the woman has to give the man Easter eggs. Important: the man cannot forget to pick up the eggs if he wants to win his woman over.

Every year after the village festival in St. Jacob, on Monday the market "Segra Sacun" will be held in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The “Segra Sacun” market is the largest market of the year, which is filled with numerous stands that offer culinary delights and craft products. According to an ancient tradition, girls and women, on the occasion of this day, will be gifted with decorated pears as a sign of sympathy and love.

Start your day with an unforgettable experience! On the sunrise hike to the Flecknerspitze (2,336 m), you'll experience pure goosebump moments. As the first rays of sunlight bathe the mountains in warm light and you feel the peacefulness of nature, the early wake-up call and the climb are quickly forgotten. Together, we'll hike to the summit in the early morning hours and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view. After this special nature experience, we'll round off the tour with a delicious breakfast at a cozy alpine hut. ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Bachlerhof. We take the bus from the village centre of Schenna up to the Pichler restaurant and then hike through the Vallplatz forest to the Bachlerhof farm and after a stop for refreshments we continue to Verdins. From the starting point you are free to decide whether to return on foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music are of course not to be missed! The Gollimarkt is a traditional market that takes place on October 16 (St. Gallus' Day) in the center of Mals. The Gollimarkt was established together with the Georgimarkt in 1642 on the occasion of the elevation of the village to a market town by Archduchess Claudia de' Medici. This year the colorful autumn market offers farm products, handicrafts and art!

Enjoy autumnal delicacies such as roasted chestnuts and refreshing Suser (new wine). The music group „Mir & Sui“ entertains with atmospheric music.

With the traditional Tramin Wine Lane, the people of Tramin celebrate the golden autumn and its treasures each year. On Saturday, October 18, 2025, visitors from near and far will once again flock to the festively decorated village lane, where all sorts of culinary delights from kitchen and cellar await tasting. Here’s how it works: After paying a €5 deposit, you’ll receive a beautiful glass bearing the Tramin coat of arms. With it, you can sample the finest wines from Tramin’s wineries at the various stands. The prices for individual wines are displayed at each stand. The celebrations of the "Wine Alleyway", in the heart of the historic centre of Termeno which is open only to pedestrians, is an appointment not to be missed: the best Traminer wines will be offered in cups made for this very occasion along with special South Tyrolean delicacies in an atmosphere of music and folklore.
