Experience the autumnal tradition of South Tyrol at the popular Törggelen Festival in St. Oswald! Enjoy traditional dishes, exquisite wines and live music. From 11 a.m. you will be served typical Törggelen specialties by the St. Oswald fire brigade. Various music groups play from 11:30 am.

The music bands of Eppan vitalize their audience with a diverse repertoire in the historic walls and courtyards. The visitors walk through palaces, castles and residences and experience on this simple walking route a pleasant mix of autumnal atmosphere, history and music.

Experience a special evening in the medieval courtyard of Haderburg Castle. Live music by Hortus Musice and tasting of different wines of the winery Nals Margreid. In case of bad weather, the event will take place on Saturday, 26 October 2024 at 6.30 pm.

With the Village market the village bridge is transformed into a culinary and artisanal treasure trove and invites you to discover, enjoy and taste. Several producers from the Passeiertal Valley present their exquisite products that make the heart of every market lover beat faster.

20th October from 9 am to 5 pm The Organic Festival will take place on the open air festival area Algund. The South Tyrolean Health Promotion Association and the Union of Alternative Farmers. Organic products (fruit, vegetables, herbs, infusions, wine, juices, bread, etc.), wholemeal dishes and entertainment for adults and children await you. In addition to a large offer of organic products, there will also be lectures with various speakers.

During the Chestnut Festival "KESCHTNRIGGL", everything revolves around the "Tisner Kescht" (Chestnut of Tesimo). During the "KESCHTNRIGGL" period, menus in selected restaurants feature specially created chestnut dishes. The chestnut is the protagonist of numerous events during the Chestnut Festival KESCHTNRIGGL.

Experience chestnuts and wine in Lana in the chestnut grove of the Katzenthalerhof on Brandiswaalweg and in the "Hännsl am Ort" vineyard in Mitterlana. Wine, nature, old stone walls & wine cellars. Enjoy a delicious chestnut soup and traditional chestnut bread and taste farm made wines. Last but not least, we roast chestnuts together on the open fire. Included: excursion, chestnut delicacies, tasting of four wines, roasted chestnuts. Booking: by Monday, 21 October, 10 a.m.

Naturno has made a name for itself as a market town in recent years; the much-visited and popular weekly market on Saturdays has become indispensable for locals and holidaymakers alike, and attracts many visitors to the village. The "Kirchtigmarkt" is one of the three annual markets where up to 55 stallholders offer their goods.

Discovery tour through the chestnut groves. On a voyage of discovery through the chestnut groves in Völlan. Guided hike on the chestnut adventure trail with tasting of chestnut dishes in the restaurant Kirchsteiger. Foiana/Völlan, at 10.00 (registration required).

Did you know that a section of the E5 hiking trail was once a Waalweg? Hiking guide Arnold accompanies you on this route, telling you exciting facts about the waterways and the local flora and fauna along the way. During a stopover at the Pfeiftal restaurant, you can enjoy a typical snack "Marendbrettl". Then continue along the newly created hiking trail to the Gilf waterfall and along the Passerdamm trail back to St. Leonhard/ S. Leonardo. Walking time: approx. 4 hours | Difference in altitude: approx. 200 m The hike will be in German and Italian.

ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Zmailerhof. With the bus we go from the center in Schenna up to the restaurant Pichler and then hike along the Ratscheidweg to the Zmailerhof and after the cozy stop further to St. Georgen. From the starting point you can freely decide whether to return by foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music may not be missing of course! Difference in altitude: approx. 300m Walking time: approx. 2,5 hours Level of difficulty: easy/medium Important: ankle-high hiking boots, weather protection, something to drink.

Round, tasty, traditional! The dumpling is not a normal meal in South Tyrol, but a way of life. Would you also like to know how the spherical delicacy gets onto your plate? During a cooking course, farmerin Rosina will show you how the South Tyrolean dumpling is typically prepared and will be happy to give you one or two insider tips. Afterwards, everyone can enjoy the homemade dumpling speciality themselves. The event will be in German and Italian.

Guided "Törggele" hike with guide Helena Graf, with a stop at the traditional farm "Schrotthof" and a cosy get-together in the "Stube". Three castels in one night ("Drei Burgen in einer Nacht") in Prissian/Prissiano, is a short walk with torchlights from Castel Fahlburg to the Castle Wehrburg and to Castel Katzenzungen meanwhile you enjoy cultural and culinary surprises and at the end of the evening will be serverd a degustation dinner based on the local chestnut. Autumn is the time for Törggelen! “Törggelen” comes from the Latin word “torculum”, which means “winepress”. The fragrant smell of roasted chestnuts is truly special, and something which characterises autumn time. People meet together to enjoy Tyrolean specialities, the new wine (known here as “Susser”, from the German word for “sweet”) – and the delicious chestnuts, of course. Innkeepers, farmers, artisans and artists all proffer their wares on Raiffeisenplatz market square, so there’s plenty to see.

On October 24, the Eppan Tourist Association invites you to a special evening at Freudenstein Castle, starting from 8 pm: The quintet "Cinquino Brass Ensemble" will take you on a fascinating journey through the finest South Tyrolean brass music. They will present the suite "Hommage to the noble Grapes", which musically explores a wide variety of wines from all over the world. The varied program is complemented by exciting works from the world of music and promises to leave nothing to be desired. You can also enjoy excellent wines from the winery Brigl in Eppan and fine delicacies, which Danilo D'Ambra combines in a sophisticated way from the traditions of Campanian and South Tyrolean cuisine. This culinary experience is accompanied by a unique art exhibition entitled "Wine in the Line" by the renowned Eppan artist Rainer Kainrath. The successful architect and long-standing representative of the South Tyrolean Artists' Association presents his works in an impressive performance. You also have the opportunity to discover an exclusive "secret exhibition" in a secluded room, which offers further insights into Kainrath's fascinating work. Aperitif from 6 pm, concert starts at 8 pm.

Immerse yourself in the dazzling autumn splendour on the Rösslsteig trail and along the Waalweg trail "Riffianer Waalweg" trail from Saltaus/Saltusio to Kuens/Caines. Enjoy the picturesque hike through the fascinating play of colours in nature. A delicious "Törggelen" experience awaits you at the restaurant Hilberkeller, where you can indulge in regional specialities and a cosy atmosphere. After this enjoyable stop, we hike together to Kuens/Caines and take the bus back to Saltaus/Saltusio. Kaltern Pop is the name of Kaltern's lakeview festival, entirely dedicated to everyone who is fond of music, wine and good food. Those who haven't missed the last edition of the Kaltern Pop Festival will remember it as three truly unforgettable October days: about 30 international bands as well as solo artists have inspired and touched both local and foreign visitors with their different styles and great professionalism. Moreover, the wonderful locations as well as the Franciscan Church enriched the experience. Three long evenings characterized by thunderous applauses, nice encounters, new friends and inspiring conversations couldn't remain just a nice memory. Experience roasting chestnuts with farmer and wood carver Herbert Kerschbaumer. He explains how to properly collect, carve and roast chestnuts. The chestnuts are then tasted. You are welcome to visit the workshop with the hand-carved wooden figures. Price per person: € 15.00. Meeting point: 3.00 pm at Thalerhof. Duration: 2h.

A special evening in Bolzano, UNESCO Creative City of Music, in collaboration with the Bolzano Concert Association. From 18.30, a glass of sparkling wine will welcome guests to the Dominican monastery, followed by the concert with the Ensemble Desiderio at 19.30 in the Conservatory C. Monteverdi. After the concert, expert sommeliers will present three wines from Bolzano in the atmospheric setting of the monastery. A guided tour of St. Catherine’s Chapel (at 9.00 pm) will conclude the event.

The "Laatscher Morkt" is a traditional autumn market in Laatsch near Mals. Products from local farmers, craftsmen, artists and many more. With cheese, chestnuts, clothes, as well as cabbage, bread and goulash. And there are animals too! With lots of music and accordion players, there's plenty going on! Come and see for yourself!

Master brewer Götz Spieht will introduce you to the world of beer brewing and tell you everything you need to know about beer. Afterwards, you will taste the chestnut beer together and learn how it harmonises perfectly with chocolate and cheese during food pairing.
