Traditional herbal dishes, seminars and great hikes will enrich your stay. Get to know the flowers and herbs of the Alps better and take a look at the beneficial power of mountain plants. In addition to the evening mountain dinner at the Edelweisshütte and the herb festival in Ladurns, the highlight of this year's festival is the photo competition.

This apple tour will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. You can explore the plantages in the company of our apple expert Franz and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. Would you like to be there and watch Friedrich Steiner produce the Steiner organic quality liqueur? The content ranges from the description of the fruit from their own organic farm to the preparation of the mash, the fermentation process and the distillation, maturation and storage of the spirit. At the historic Popphof in Marling, the love for nature comes alive. Let Katharina explain to you why “the vine” is considered a woman – a deeply rooted passion that is evident in every drop of wine. The vineyards at Popphof are cultivated with great care and dedication. From the first budding to the harvest, every phase in the vineyard is carefully managed. The sunny slopes and exceptional locations give the wines a unique character, reflecting the effort and weather conditions of an entire year. We will see which plants grow at altitude (2000m.a.s.l.), how to recognise them and use them. Here we will see one of the largest bells in Europe: the Concordia. Finally, we return on foot to the Furcia Pass. Have you ever tasted authentic South Tyrolean speck on a crispy “Breatl” with a stunning mountain backdrop? Our Speckbread Hike starts at the Olang 1+2 mid-station at 2000 m and leads you through several culinary stops amidst the breathtaking nature of the Dolomites. A special treat awaits you at the end: freshly sliced speck served on warm oven-baked bread. The hike is self-guided but well-marked and easy to follow. Along the circular trail, you’ll also discover how speck and bread were made in the old days.

ONLY IN GERMAN AND ITALIAN! Around the beehive, many garden and wild herbs grow, such as sage, thyme, rosemary, wormwood, plantain, ground elder, yarrow, and nettle. Herbal drinks are made from these plants, with herbal expert Brigitta Patzleiner explaining the beneficial properties of each herb. Afterwards, the drinks can be sampled. In addition, three take-home products are made together: a calendula salve or lip balm, an herbal salt, and an herbal liqueur. Herbs are so valuable because all their components, such as minerals, vitamins, and nutrients, correspond to the elements of the human body. This allows them to be easily absorbed and transported within the body to where they are needed. For example, a green rosemary drink stimulates circulation, provides energy, activates the brain, and improves concentration and memory. The ancient Greeks already knew this: students would wear a rosemary wreath during exams. Today, this effect has also been scientifically proven.
