On May 31 and June 1, 2025, the Solidarity House (CdS) in Brixen invites you once again to its popular Zugluftfest. The open, colorful and popular festival for young and old will once again take place in front of the Jakob-Steiner-Haus in Milland. With a varied program of music, international delicacies, creative games and inspiring encounters, Zugluftfest is an experience for all visitors. For more than two decades, Zugluftfest has brought together people from different backgrounds and cultures. This year's motto is “Solidarity moves - 20 years of Zugluft!” All proceeds go to the social work of CdS, which has supported more than 1,600 people in difficult living situations since its founding. The program More than 10 live bands, an intercultural kitchen, a colorful children's program and cultural moments that shine a spotlight on South Tyrol's music scene are expected. This year's artists include South Tyrolean celebrities such as Timbreroots, Burning Mind, the trio Tramlaut with Christa Plank, and Ariel Trettel with his Marmorstube lineup. But guests from the international music scene such as Cacao Mental and the well-known band Wicked Dub Division will also play at this year's Zugluft Festival. Another attraction is Johannes Stötter, who will surprise us with a body painting show on Saturday night.

Berty Skuber was born in Völs am Schlern and has lived and worked in Völser Aicha for decades, interspersed with longer stays in Venice and Milan and numerous trips. Her exhibition activities, which began in 1970, have taken her far beyond South Tyrol and Italy to various European and American galleries, museums and collections. Berty Skuber works with a wide variety of media in her extensive oeuvre, ranging from painting and drawing to collage, artist's books, sculpture, objects and video. The exhibition shows important stages of her life's work.

The exhibition sheds light on the Peasants' War and its prehistory using archival documents from around 1500, focussing on the social, political and economic aspects of life before and during the peasant uprisings. Through the presentation of archival documents from the Diocesan Archives, works of art and everyday objects, perspectives on the Peasants' War that have been little illuminated to date are shown in order to visualise the multi-layered nature of the historical events and their complex causes. The exhibition builds a bridge between past and present and encourages reflection on the continuity of social upheaval.

Ready for an unforgettable adventure in the Dolomites? The day begins with an exciting ride on the funicular from Ortisei in Val Gardena, which takes us to an incredible altitude of 2000 meters. After the ascent, we tackle a short but demanding climb to the Raschötz Hut. The steep path rewards us with spectacular views. Continuing towards Ausserraschötz, we face a short pushing section. The beauty of the natural landscape compensates for every effort. Antonín Dvorák's impressive Stabat Mater for soloists, choir and orchestra is probably the best-known of the Bohemian composer's sacred works. Dvorák's own painful experiences with the loss of three children are likely to have prompted his preoccupation with the suffering of the Mother of God under the cross of her son. The work is one of the most moving and successful sacred works in music. Performers in the cathedral are the Haydn Orchestra, the South Tyrolean Vocal Ensemble, the Gürzenich Choir Cologne and four South Tyrolean vocal soloists. Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.

Federico Nuti's debut album “InFormal Setting” was released by HORA Records in September 2022 and earned the Tuscan pianist and composer second place in the “Miglior Nuovo Talento” category at “Top Jazz 2022” by “Musica Jazz”. Nuti is joined by four of the most exciting musicians of the new Italian generation: Francesco Panconesi (tenor saxophone), Jacopo Fagioli (trumpet), Amedeo Verniani (double bass) and Mattia Galeotti (drums). The line-up is reminiscent of a classical jazz quintet, but the music combines diverse contemporary styles of Afro-American and European origin. “InFormal Setting” stands for the balance between formal structures and spontaneous freedom, a space in which opposites merge to create new musical images.

This tour is a true insider tip! The ascent through the Schalderertal valley north of Brixen becomes a pleasure with the e-bike – ideally, we ride in eco mode to save battery power for later. Passing idyllic mountain farms, we reach the Zirmait Alm mountain hut, where we can take a well-deserved break. There are several options for the return route: those with energy and battery left can tackle the legendary trail on Scheibenberg mountain – one of the most beautiful and challenging in Brixen. Or we can cruise down leisurely and enjoy the landscape. Thanks to our guide, the route is flexibly adapted. What it's all about. We will run - or walk - through the historic center of Brixen. For each lap completed over the course of an hour (equal to about 1.8 km), we will donate 5 euros, which will be divided equally between the associations b*nature, Stando vicini si guarisce and the House of Solidarity. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced runner or just an exercise lover, every step counts! From the running track to the dance floor... At the end of the charity run, as a token of thanks, you are invited to attend an unforgettable party. We have trained hard and sweated hard, now it's time to eat, drink and celebrate together!

In collaboration with the Südtiroler Künstlerbund, on June 13, the chromoson ensemble will present an intermedia concert of contemporary music in the Sala Grande of the ASTRA in Bressanone, exploring the close connection between sound and visual perception. Music and color—two sensory worlds that complement and enhance each other in a fascinating way. Inspired by synesthetic experiences and color-sound concepts, the evening's compositions make colors resonate and tones shine. Light, projections, and musical textures create an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between hearing and sight. On the visual side, two South Tyrolean artists who are intensely involved with the effect of colors and music, Karin Schmuck and Nathanael Noir, will join forces. Their works will intertwine artistically, interpreting the concert space in various ways through images and video projections. The music of the evening—ranging from instrumental music to electroacoustic sounds—refers specifically to the color blue: symbolically, metaphorically, but also concretely in terms of content, tracing different possibilities for translation from color to music. New works by Simon Stampfer (commissioned by the Südtiroler Künstlerbund), Jeeyoung Yoo, Gianni Tamanini, and Hannes Kerschbaumer will be performed for the first time, in addition to works by Kelley Sheehan and Gustavo Chab. Although the cable cars make most of the ascents easier, there are still almost 3,000 metres of descent waiting for you to master. If you decide to take this route, you should definitely be able to easily master S2 trails and not shy away from the S3 passages. And remember: it's not just about the adrenaline rush on the trail. Fantastic views, vast natural landscapes and majestic mountains: this is the Dolorama Trail. Our hike takes us on a section of this long-distance hiking trail, from the Würzjoch around the striking Peitlerkofel, to the Schlüterhütte and then to Zans in the Villnöss Dolomite valley. During the hike, we learn exciting facts about the fauna and flora, the geological features of the Dolomites and also about the home of mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner.
