In Brixen’s charming old town, in addition to shops, restaurants and lots of dolce vita, a multitude of renowned exhibitors from the bike industry await all visitors. At the many stands you can get advice, buy one thing or another and test products for free.

For the eightteenth time now, the environmental group of Kaltern, together with the umbrella organisation for nature and environmental protection, the environmental group and the municipality of Eppan, is organising the car-free cycling day on the Mendel - a visible sign of active climate protection. The road is closed to motorised traffic from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. from Oberplanitzing junction to the Mendel Pass. So it's free to ride for cyclists!

On 22 September, the Nigerstrasse | Via Nigra at the foot of the magnificent "Rose Garden" (Rosengarten | Catinaccio) will be reserved exclusively for hikers and cyclists from 08.30 am till 4 pm. During this period of time, the road will be closed for automobiles and motorcycles. The cableways from Welschnofen | Nova Levante and Tiers | Tires will take all visitors to the Nigerstraße | Via Nigra. At the same time, inns and refreshment stops along the way will be serving a variety of culinary delicacies. A horse-drawn carriage runs every half hour from 10 am to 4 pm between Malga Franzin Alm and Malga Frommer Alm. E-bikes can be hired from the local bike rentals on reservation and for a fee. HIGHLIGHT: FAMILY CHALLENGE On Sunday, 22 of September 2024, from 9 am to 3.30 pm, as part of the Family Cycling and Hiking Day, there will be organized a Family Challenge along the Nigerstraße | Via Nigra – an exciting event where families and children can solve exciting games and tricky tasks. On the route between Malga Frommer Alm and Malga Franzin Alm, various stations will be set up by different local clubs from Welschnofen | Nova Levante along the Nigerstraße | Via Nigra on the car-free Sunday. What awaits you there remains a secret – it could be a game, a puzzle, a quiz, or something related to their club activities. The creativity knows no bounds! At each station, participants can collect stamps, which will allow them to take part in the final prize draw and win great prizes. MAIN PRIZE: WOOM children's bike (3-4.5 years). The draw will take place on Monday, 23/09/2024. The winner will then be contacted. Participation is free. No registration required.

Do you love cycling and the Dolomites? Then you should not miss the Sellaronda Bike Day, the day when the roads of the famous Sellaronda are closed to motorized traffic and reserved for cyclists, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. It is the perfect occasion to ride the Dolomites passes Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo without noise and vehicle pollution. To take part you do not need to register and you can organize the day according to your wishes and abilities, whether as a sporting challenge or an excursion on two wheels. Join in, participate with friends or family and enjoy riding the unique Dolomite roads admiring the landscapes along the route. The entire tour is 53 km long and has a total difference in altitude of 1600 m, but everyone can drive as long as they want. It is recommended to cycle anticlockwise! The HERO Südtirol Dolomites in Selva Val Gardena represents one of the hardest mountain bike events for amateurs and professional cyclists. The competition is spectacular and a great opportunity for international professional athletes and ambitious amateur cyclists to come together, allowing them to pursue the same dream.

The Dolomites Bike Day ia a unique kind of Saturday! Cyclists of all abilities can ride together on closed roads, up and down the local mountain cols and passes. The 51km loop is open to anyone: professionals, amateurs, youngsters, and beginners. Even using an e-bike is allowed! On this Saturday, from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. the Dolomites passes roads Campolongo, Falzarego and Valparola will be closed to the traffic and reserved exclusively for cyclists. At the non-competitive cycling event, every cyclist can take part for free. We recommend to ride in counterclockwise direction.
