You can reach the Locher restaurant going along trail no. 33a. Walk along trail no. 5 and you will come to the Kreuzerweiher Lake. From here, follow trail no. 6 until you reach the Altenberg/Flak belvedere. Walk along trails no. 11 and no. 5 to come back to the Messner restaurant and then continue on trail no. 5 and 9 until you reach Bozen. You will get to the old Gries parish church. From the swimming pool in Chiusa/Klausen, you walk along the main road to the crossroads for Velturno/Feldthurns. Follow the marked Wine Trail (Weinwanderweg), first along the road and then through the Leitach vineyards past various wineries up to the Hienghof farm and from there back down to the swimming pool. On the way you will get a fascinating insight into winegrowing in the Eisacktal valley and learn about the different varieties of grape.

The tour to the idyllic Latemar hut / Rif. Torre di Pisa at an altitude of 2,671 meters above sea-level is a special experience. This deman-ding but well-secured mountain hiking trail will take you into the heart of the Dolomites World Heritage Site. You will be rewarded with views that are breath-taking to say the least. The Oberholz hut at the mountain station acts as starting point of the hike. With its modern architecture, unique location and 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.

Extraordinary art objects have been incorporated into the picturesque backdrop of the hiking trails of Reischach/Riscone, which sometimes only the attentive hiker can see.

The LATEMAR.NATURA trail was made for families and nature-lovers and leads through alpine landscapes and altitude zones to discover natural habitats of the alpine region. Interactive stations make the hikers aware of the nature around and acquaint them with the local flora and fauna.
The Oberholz hut at the mountain station acts as starting point of a hike underneath the rocks of Latemar. With its modern architecture, the unique location and the 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.

The Pinot Noir walkway leads through the Pinot Nor growing area along the Trudner Horn/Monte Corno Nature Park and the characteristic villages of Auer/Ora, Montan/Montagna and Neumarkt/Egna. The Pinot Noir growing area in Montan and Mazon/Mazzon is one of the most famous in Italy. Furthermore you walk through several monuments and historical places. The walkway is family-friendly and not dangerous.

7, 14, or 31: When the first Ways of the Cross were built, there was a varying number of stations. In some places there were seven; in other places, 31 stations. Later, there was an agreement to always have 14.

From the train station in Lasa the tour leads to the village center, past the marble Emperor Franz Josef I. (Raiffeisen square) to the parish church with cemetery and Marx church, to the marble world in the tricorn of the Lasa Marmo (visit with the Lasa marble guide).

On the bike path you will find art: “Pillars of Freedom” created by international artists (at the Marmor & Marillen festival 2017). The view follows the sloped railway to the Monte Tramontana mountain and up to the “Bremsberg”, where, with a bit of luck, the train transports a block of marble weighing several tons into the valley. At the Bagni square, the marble fountain refreshes with a view over the river Adige to “Pfeiler and Koundl”. The marble walkway leads to the way of the cross, which goes through the orchards to the sanctuary of Maria Lourdes.

Back in the village, the path leads past the “Johannes Steinhäuser” school for stonecarving and numerous artworks, to the hill of St. Sisinius church - 360° panorama: Monte Sole mountain, Sesvenna group, Stelvio National Park, Lasa Valley with the Croda Jenne, fruit and vegetable gardens.

Diverting, worthwhile tour on old cultural paths and along the interesting stations of the cross that starts and ends in San Martino in Monte.

The Latemar World Heritage Site promises unforgettable adventures and a one-of-a-kind nature experience. In summer 2023, Obereggen's new adventure programme will feature along three different paths the Magical Tales of the Dolomites, the Storm Vaia and thrilling poacher legends. Various installations, booklets, maps, audio games and an app will help children aged 6 to 14 solve difficult puzzles and tasks in analog and digital formats. The entire family can actively participate in the adventures and earn valuable points that will help with specific reforestation of the woods. The Secret of the Venetian - Audio game hike: 2 hours, 1.4 km (trail nr. 22, LATEMAR.PANORAMA). Toni and Klara, the Jörglhof siblings, are once again on the road with you, entertaining you with a legend from their homeland, the Latemar puppets. Fascinated, you are looking at the mountain peaks of the Latemar, to recognize in them the puppets of the Venetian, when you hear a voice "I, too, am looking for my knife! Help me and I will reward you richly!". Startled, you whirl around, between the bushes there is an old man who seems to have sprung from the legend you just heard. In search of the lost knife, you land in the middle of the legendary world of the Latemar. There are tricky puzzles to be solve, the evil witch Langwerda to be escaped and many dangers to be overcome.

 

 

 

 

A world of medicinal and edible herbs grow on our doorstep.

Along the Flora TraFul wild herb trail you’ll find information about our unique alpine plants and their multiple uses. The purpose of the Flora TraFul nature trail is to vividly illustrate how herbs are used in traditional folk medicine. Along the two-km-long hike, the rudiments of identification are explained, as well as the essentials of plant foraging, insights into herb processing, and the effects produced by some of the herbs.

Starting point of the hike is the naturatrafoi Visitor Centre of Stelvio National Park, or at the bus stop.

This trail will take you along alpine meadows to interactive stations and inform you about alpine pasture farming and the Dolomites World Heritage Site. Toni and Klara must find their small calf Peppi in this interactive audio game.

This gorgeous panorama path leads above the village Nova Levante to the Pension Erna and it's a perfect family walk.
A total of 9 stations along the panoramic path explain facts about the village Welschnofen, their history and tradition and the nature in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Numerous benches invite you to relax and to enjoy the tranquility and fresh mountain air.

The cultural highlight of the four-hours hiking tour from San Martino in Monte to Silandro are the derelict varlet farms, but also Schlandersberg Castle from the 13th century A.D. and the San Egidio church.

A walk through Silandro fascinates with the highest church tower in the country, marble, castle, art and nature.

From the Capuchin church in Silandro the tour leads past avimundus to the Plawennpark with the Freienturm Manor (town hall) and the marble stele of Martin Teimer, where already the parish church with tower and chapel can be seen. The historic buildings Sachsalber house (old court), parish residence and the frescoes at the Stainer house lead into the pedestrian zone to the marble fountain on the main square and the hospital church on Damml square. Behind it you reach the Schlandersburg castle with the Menhire exhibition through small alleys.

The walk leads above the state road into the fraction Corzes, with historic buildings and an elaborate marble fountain in front of St. John's Church.

Passing at the Drusus barracks and the station, through orchards, you head to the next Silandro fraction: Covelano with various marble sculptures and pillars. The square at the churches of St. Martino and St. Valpurga offers a picturesque backdrop: orchards in the valley, Schlandersberg Castle on the Monte Sole mountain and the mighty Zerminiger summit.

According to Ordinance No. 079/2025 issued by the Mayor, the complete closure of the Aichberg hiking trail (Lana's nature educational trail) as well as the Aichberg forest road (access to the drinking water reservoir) is ordered with immediate effect until further notice.

Culture and nature trail with information boards about the local history, flora, fauna, geology and fruit and grape growing. A historic trail that joins the mountain and the valley.

The Aichbergweg trail runs along historic tracks and access routes a little above Lana. Information about the history of this ancient cultural landscape, as well as fruit and grape growing is provided on boards along the route.

From Lana the well-signposted route leads below the Vigiljoch Cable Car firstly along Villener Weg, then Raffeinweg up the mountain to Aichbergweg, where it leads in a southerly direction. Continuing to climb, Aichbergweg leads for almost 2 km high above Ultnerstrasse road through the forest and vineyards. Then turning left downhill, cross over Ultnerstrasse and on a track down to Braunsbergweg. Aichnerbergweg now leads past Braunsberg Castle back to Lana.

A paradise for hikers - don't miss the meadows of Salto/Salten with its calming larch trees and the panoramic view on the Dolomites! 

The legend trail: starting from restaurant Edelweiss until Lavena (E5), you will find 14 figures and statues about San Genesio's legends. 132 students of the elementary school of San Genesio have worked on this amazing project.

The tunnels in the Lagazuoi mountain

A 1.5-hour hike through the open-air museum of Lagazuoi: the rock tunnel, a former battlefield between the former wartime enemies of Austria and Italy, has now become a symbol for peace and mutual understanding, a meeting point of the history of the province.

Stelvio is known far beyond the region for its customs, especially for the Klosn, Pfluagziachn and Scheibenschlagen. The tradition trail leads past numerous traditional sites such as the Weiberbödele (finds from the early Bronze Age).

A walk for nature lovers

The theme path that runs from Natz to Raas and back to the starting point provides insight into the natural beauty of the area. On various information boards along the way, you will learn things to know about the apple cultivation in Natz and the apple-producing region of South Tyrol.

We suggest you to start at the train station in Castelbello that you can reach by Val Venosta train or by car.

From the Jochgrimm parking lot, you proceed through the idyllic natural landscape of Jochgrimm. During this roundtrip tour, you will pass by several hosted alpine inns where you obtain refreshments and rest before continuing your hike.

The hiking circuit around the Kummersee near Rabenstein/Corvara is easily negotiated and highly worthwhile. Enshrouded in legend, the lake in the Upper Passeiertal Valley combines the splendour of the terrain with the enjoyment of hiking and an appreciation of history. In the summer months, it takes only 2.5 hours to circumvent this former lake basin situated at an altitude of 1,340 m, with an elevation gain of 350 m. Sturdy footwear and thermal, weatherproof clothing is a necessity. Be sure to always stay updated on the current weather and forecast, as well as snow conditions. The eight didactic stations along the lake route help to illustrate the story and peculiarities of these waters and surrounding territory.

Pale and sleepy, Toni turns off the radio. Your family is currently spending the fall vacations on Toni’s parents’ farm, the Jörgelhof. You are just sitting with a cup of tea when Toni’s sister Klara storms into the parlor - her beloved calf Peppi is gone! You quickly gather the most important equipment and set off in search for the lost animal – through the completely devastated forest landscape. Fallen trees, raging streams – many dangerous and tricky situation are awaiting you and you must master them.

Hike through the diverse nature and cultural landscape at the slopes of the Stelvio National Park.

 

This section of the "Keschtnweg" leads from the Bilderburg Runkelstein in the provincial capital of Bolzano through the sun-drenched vineyards, past the beautiful wine farms, along the slopes of the Guntschnaberge to the mighty chestnut trees in Glaning and on over the low mountain range above the Etsch Valley to Terlan and Vilpian.

Short but educational theme trail at the Rainguthof animal world in Gfrill

Lana does not own a museum for contemporary art but it has a unique Sculpture Walk Trail leading many kilometres along the whole beautiful Brandis Waalweg and the Ländpromenade to the biotope of the river Valsura and on through the Gola Canyon. This exceptional land art project features open air art works and is continually extended.

Hikers and art enthusiast that take the South Tyrolean Sculpture Walk Trail can experience how artists from all over the world reacted on the given landscape and the changing conditions along the track and how differently they interpreted the nature in their individual works. These art exhibition sites are perfect resting spots and at the same time provide a space for contemplation and self-discovery.

The Sculpture Walk Trail's true nature is best experienced as a journey at an easy stroll. Selected works were placed in key locations, such as crossroads and forks, as a way for walkers to navigate and be spurred on by the works of art. Those who take it slow will be rewarded as the trail reveals the interaction between nature and sculpture - a delight for the eyes, intellect and spirit.
