Schmidt becomes SCHMIEDL

Lana's village bakery is now called SCHMIEDL and is run by Johannes, Tobias and Greta. The young generation builds on over 100 years of experience and brings a fresh look and many new ideas to the bakery. SCHMIEDL relies on high-quality, natural ingredients, traditional craftsmanship and long dough processes. "Our most important ingredient is time," says master baker Johannes, "it makes our baked goods easy to digest and gives them their unique taste." Around 200 recipes are used in the SCHMIEDL bakery. A good portion of these are the carefully mixed pre-doughs, which together with the natural yeasts in the form of Lievito Madre and sourdough make the baked goods juicier, longer lasting and even tastier.

Meats supplied from local mountain farms + salamis, homemade Tyrolean dumplings, various deli foods & wines.
Our specialties include Tyrolean Speck, "Kaminwurzen" and other homemade sausages. Besides our quality foods we provide a high level of personal service and advice.

Our role is not only to supply our customers with medicines, but also and above all to provide them with expert advice on the medicines, their effects, side-effects and interactions. Particular attention is paid in our pharmacy to advice regarding complementary medicine (espcecially homeopathy and herbal medicine). We also strive to respond to our customers' questions.

We are a small farm dairy and we produce various cheeses from raw milk and yogurt with different flavors. We only work with the milk of our own cows, which are feeded only with hay. Until our cheeses go on sale, they are turned and brushed every two days. We offer home delivery and sell our products in selected shops and also at our selling point "Kashittl" (Moarhans) in Caprile (see opening hours).

I In the village center of Moos in Passeier you find the butcher Hofer, which is known for high quality of bacon, meat and sausages. The Hofer family has been practicing the butcher's trade with passion, precision and craftsmanship for over 55 years. The butcher is leaded by the second generation, from the brothers Kurt and Kilian Hofer, who took it from their parents Franz Hofer and Maria Girtler. Of particular importance for the Hofer family is the quality of their products. The processing process begins directly in our own slaughterhouse. Where the staff process the meat of fawns, lambs, cattle, calves, sheep and pigs with great care. Then it will process professionally in the sausage production and in the bacon production. The processing is still based on old tradition and natural recipes, but it has been refined by sophisticated production methods. Since 1948, we have processed local mountain sheep wool into felting wool, knitwear, socks, duvets, pillows and more.

Our in-house tailoring produces the typical “Sarner” jackets, as well as walking jackets fit to size and personal taste, individually and uniquely.
