The Stone City is located on Passo Sella under the famous Sassolungo, it is a "city" with a lot of stones of different sizes which you can climb or walk around. Along the path you have an amazing view of the city and its surroundings.

The Minert Riding Stable - Horse Love at First Sight

We’ve been in operation since the summer of 2022 and offer a wide range of activities for all horse lovers, whatever the season.

Enthusiasm for horses often starts at a very early age, so we give our youngest guests, from around 2 years old, the chance to have their first playful contact with horses. They get to groom and look after our ponies and horses in a safe environment and let them experience their first guided pony rides and attempts at riding. Pony time for the little ones can also take place in the company of their parents or in groups. Besides riding, there’s plenty of cuddling, playing, and child-friendly learning about horses with lots of fun, games and exercise.

Of course we also offer riding lessons for teenagers and adults (individually and in small groups), as well as unforgettable trailrides (for advanced riders) in beautiful natural surroundings, up to the Alpe di Siusi or Seceda. Whether training or relaxation, there is something for everyone!

Our balanced and well-trained westernhorses offer so much more than just riding. From vaulting to playful, therapeutic riding for children and young people with special needs and disabilities (including mobility impaired children) to ground work and horsemanship courses, horse-themed birthday parties, pony walks, professional photo shoots, colt starting and horse boarding (holidays with your own horse), there is something for everyone.

We take great pride in our approach to horse keeping, focused first and foremost on the well-being of our four-legged friends (Haflinger, American Quarter Horses, Appaloosa and Shetland ponies). To us, mindfulness, respect, and appreciation are simply a very important part of the horse world.

Our facility (an official ENGEA member) is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Ortisei and has a 25x50m riding arena with a wonderful view of the Sella Massif, a round pen, bright 3.5x3m stalls, as well as spacious paddocks.

This scenic path in the nearby district of Ortisei - the Anna valley - is recommended for people with impairments who want to enjoy the unspoilt nature.

La Longia (red), 10,5 km long, one of the longest ski runs in Val Gardena and in the Dolomites; allows you to ski down to the village of Ortisei on the valley floor.

Along the geological trail between Passo Pinei and Bulla, you can find interesting information panels explaining the evolution of the world-renowned Dolomites. The path leads through geological highlights on the margin of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers fantastic panoramic views on the mountains of Val Gardena. The highlight of the trail is marked by panel No. 2; here the excursionist physically passes through the Permian-Triassic boundary, which marks one of the greatest changes in the development of life on earth. In fact, 250 million years ago, more than 90% of all species, plants and animals in water, land and air became extinct due to enormous volcanic eruptions.

Ciampac hut offers you at any time the possibility to charge your e-bike.

Covered with pines, the Ciampinoi mountain rises to the south of Selva Gardena sheltered by Sassolungo, a majestic peak in the Dolomites, which towers above it.

The Sassolungo summit dominates Val Gardena with its three residential areas. From the valley bottom the visitor can admire the Odle, Cir, Sella, and Sciliar peaks in the immediate surroundings, the Tofane further away in Veneto, the Ortles and Adamello groups in the west or even some distant mountains in Austria.

The ultimate fun for freeride junkies and those who want to become one. The freeride track starts directly on the top of Ciampinoi.

In winter the ski runs, which have been known since the late 1930s and hosted the 1970 Alpine Skiing World Championships, offer fantastic descents towards Selva Gardena, Santa Cristina and Plan de Gralba.

The lifts and slopes of Ciampinoi are linked to the famous Sellaronda ski circuit, which allows the skier to ski all four valleys surrounding the spectacular Sella Group.

Discover Ortisei in Val Gardena on a cozy village stroll along the Luis Trenker Promenade. Perfect for all ages, this route offers beautiful views, traditional architecture, and the unmatched atmosphere of the village.

The sundial created by the artist Roland Moroder is located on the Alpe Juac on a huge meadow and counts as usual all the serne hours. From Selva Gardena one reaches the sundial about the cozy walk no. 3 from the "Daunëi" fraction. Walking time: 30 min.

The 19th century neo-Gothic nave was demolished in 1988 and replaced by a modern octagonal structure. The beautiful chancel dating back to 1670, however, was preserved, complete with the painting of the Madonna with Child by Lukas Cranach on the high altar (now a copy). In 1503 Wilhelm von Wolkenstein had a chapel dedicated to the Virgin built here, which subsequently had to be enlarged several times to cope with the large numbers of people who came to this popular place of pilgrimage as they still do today. On the outside wall of the sacristy there is a stone painted with the coat of arms of the Counts of Wolkenstein.

A journey of discovery of Ladin culture, walking through the village starting at the valley station of the Resciesa funicular and first reaching the 'Solaria' house and then the 'Cudan' house. You will firstly cross a beautiful meadow with a wonderful view of Ortisei, and then plunge into nature through the coniferous forest. You will then reach the characteristic 'Dumat' farmstead. The way back runs along the Via Mureda until, after about 700 m, at the junction, you turn left into Via Meisules, to return to the village centre.

In a few minutes, from the centre of Ortisei our ropeway will take you to the Alpe di Siusi mountain plateau , the sunniest part of the Dolomites.

The Alpe di Siusi is the largest high alpine pasture and one of the most famous ski and excursion areas of Europe with its 52 km² mountain surrounded alpine pastures.

The Alpe di Siusi is well-known all over the world for its colourful flowers in the summer and its glittering blanket of snow in the winter.

This tiny, charming place of silence and meditation was dedicated to the patron saint of cattle. 300 year-old frescoes illustrating the history of Jesus' life were uncovered during restoration work in 1993.

The starting point for this beautiful hike is the Costamula farmstead towards Mount Seceda, and it is one of the oldest farms in Val Gardena. The first section of the hike, which takes you up to the Nudrei farmstead, is the steepest, but don't let this discourage you. Further on you will reach the middle station of the 'Furnes' cable car, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view. The hike continues to the left until you reach the Cuecenes stream, where you can also take a regenerating and refreshing break along the stream. On the way back you pass a private hut and descend to Martin, from where you can take the local bus back to Ortisei.

Whether in summer when hiking or on the bike or in winter on skis, Dantercepies and the area around the Sellaronda offer beautiful hikes, exciting flow trails and perfectly prepared ski slopes.
