Hasl-Wieben Mountain Bike Tour and the Holy Hansen Trail
    Schlanders/Silandro, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The Holy Hansen trail was applied by bikers for bikers. The farm tavern Haslhof (1,550 m), after so many curves to satisfy the hunger of trail, awaits the deserved break with wonderful views.

From Haslhof westwards pass two fences and get off right after the flowy S1 trail section in sector 1 and 2. In sector 3 and 4 wait a few S2 and S3 somewhat more difficult to thereafter return to the easier element of fun for everyone. The Holy Hansen crosses repeatedly forest and asphalt paths.

At Wiebenhof follow on asphalt two bends downhill to then turn right into the trail section. Flow pure, spiced with abutting sections, small kickers and faster passages provides this trail section to the crossing of the asphalt road. Take the road uphill for a short stretch and then turn left to continue to enjoy the rest of the trail up to Göflan.

    Sellaronda MTB tour - anti-clockwise
    Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia

Spectacular Dolomite peaks and legendary mountain passes: The Sellaronda is one of the most beautiful and popular circular routes in the Alps and offers all kinds of exciting options in winter or in summer. One of these is the Sellaronda mountain biking tour. The tour requires a good level of physical fitness and mountain biking experience, because there are some tricky climbs and a few difficult descents to manage. However, for the last few years there has been the option of avoiding some of the particularly steep climbs by using lifts, making it possible to complete the tour in a day.

Following the Sellaronda MTB Tour Anti-Clockwise there is a total height difference of about 1.020 m to be cycled uphill and several descents through single trails or forest roads. Therefore it is more suited to those who enjoy cycling uphill on your MTB or e-bike. The time needed to complete the tour varies according the ability of the biker: from a minimum 6 to a maximum of 9 hours, with a lunch break included.

    Plamortböden Tour
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
From Reschen go north towards the Austrian border. Just 500 m before the valley station of the Bergkastel cable car (Nauders), take a sharp right along a fairly steep gravel road to the mountain station. Stop for refreshments in the Bergkastel mountain restaurant. Here starts the most beautiful part of the tour: return to the ascent path to the Bergkastelalpe and continue to the left to the high moorland of Plamortböden and the anti-tank barrages that are also well known across the border. From here on use the forest road or the beautifully laid out trails (S2). After passing the barriers, the view opens up over the Vinschgau Valley with its unique lake landscape from the vantage point on the rock. With a breathtaking view descend to Reschen: on the technical and partly more demanding Bunker Trail (no. 101, S2), with the subsequent Etsch Trail (no. 102, S1) leading into the forest, or on the forest road to Reschen. Once back there, enjoy a typical aperitif.

    First World War ski tour
    Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia

The centre point of the First World War ski tour is the symbolic mountain of the era, Col di Lana. The 80 km (49 mi) tour takes you around this mountain. Throughout the tour, you will find traces of the war: artefacts from the war era, trenches running right through the rocks, parapet walks and forts.

In Alta Badia, you will start in Corvara and go to Campolongo Pass until you reach Arabba. Via Arabba and Porta Vescovo, you will reach Malga Ciapela/Marmolada. From here, you can take a detour to Marmolada Glacier (3,342 m / 10,964 ft). The lifts at Marmolada are included in the Dolomiti Superski pass.

Continue with the ski bus to Alleghe, where you can explore the runs of the Civetta ski area. The ski bus takes you from Pescul to the Fedare mountain hut at the Giau Pass.  From there a two-seater chairlift will take you to the forcella Croda Negra at the Croda Negra Pass.

On the north side of the Forcella Negra the new Averau-Troi ski track brings you to the Col Gallina and to Passo Falzarego where you continue for Alta Badia with the Lagazuoi ski tour.

For the whole tour you need approximately 7 or 8 hours. Therefore, we recommend to take off in the early morning in order to finish the tour in time before the lifts close.

The tour can be done either clockwise or anti-clockwise, and in both cases there are sections in the ski bus, the ticket for which must be bought on board, as it is not included in the ski pass. The counter-clockwise route includes an atmospheric section of approx. 1.5 km in which skiers are pulled by a parade of Norse horses.

One of the most spectacular descents of this tour is definitely the ski slope that from the top of Lagazuoi descends towards Armentarola in Alta Badia, the longest ski slope in the Dolomites.

This bike tour follows the trackbed of the former Fleimstalbahn railway, which was built during the First World War, serving primarily to transport goods until 1936. It began in Ora/Auer and ran to the town of Predazzo. The stretch from Ora to San Lugano is still in good condition and is easy to ride. The bike tour leads through historic villages, wonderful vineyards - right through the Pinot Noir heart of Pinzon/Pinzano and through Auer/Ora, the home of the Lagrein - the wonderful mountain landscape of the Trudner Horn/Monte Corno Nature Park and is particularly rewarding because of the unique view of the South Tyrolean lowlands.

The track then continues downhill towards Cortina d'Ampezzo. Shortly before the parking lot in Fiames, the partially steep, paved road leads up to the Malga Ra Stua Hut and further to the Sennes Hut. Kronplatz Bike Park
Al Plan/San Vigilio, Dolomites Region Kronplatz/Plan de Corones

The Kronplatz Bike Park is anything but ordinary. Instead of sketching trails on a drawing board, we went right into the forest and used whatever we found: Steep slope? Steep trail. Plenty of space? Perfect for jumps. Roots all over the place? Well, we’re in a forest, so there will be roots. In places where dredging was allowed, we put our excavators to work. And wherever it wasn’t, well, we didn’t. The result: At Kronplatz, there’s no copy-paste – each trail tells its own story.

And the trail names are quite unique, too: Franz and Hans are already legendary. They’ve been a household name in the community for years. But their successors are by no means inferior to them and have long been among the favourites of countless TrailTrophy and Alpine Enduro Series participants.

    18 trails await you: 1 easy-moderate, 3 moderate, 10 moderate-difficult and 2 difficult.

With a total of 5 lifts and cable-cars (Kronplatz 2000 lift, Olang 1+2 lift, Ried lift, Ruis lift and Piz de Plaies lift) up and running all summer, our mountain bikers are spoilt for choice – that’s more than most places in the Alps can say for themselves. And with the exception of the Piz de Plaies lift, they all lead right to the peak at 2,272 m above sea-level, complete with jaw-dropping 360° views.

    Stelvio Tour
Prad am Stilfser Joch/Prato allo Stelvio, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

The cycle from Prato to Passo dello Stelvio is known as a classic one in the cycling scene. It is not only the 25 km and the roughly 1800 meters of difference in altitude that are particularly appealing. It is as well the total of 48 hairpin turns that, starting from Prato via Gomagoi, Trafoi and Franzenshöhe, raise to the second highest tarmaced mountain pass of Europe. Near Trafoi, the cyclist will be offered an unrestricted view of the glacier and rock formations of the Ortles range that will be present until the pass is reached. For the descent, the route via the Umbrail pass and Switzerland to Prato is recommended.

The route leads from Marlengo/Marling via Lana and Nalles/Nals to Andriano/Andrian. Change to the Etschtal Cycle Path, which leads to Bolzano/Bozen. One of the most ‘castle rich’ regions in all of Europe begins south of Merano/Meran. Worth mentioning are Hocheppan Castle in Missiano/Missian, Appiano/Eppan, Maultasch Castle (Burg Maultasch) near Terlano/Terlan and Sigmundskron Castle (Schloss Sigmundskron) near Firmiano/Firmian, Bolzano.

The route leads along the western edge of South Tyrol's capital city Bolzano (the best way to enter is to follow the Eisack river). The villages south of Bolzano have been historically strongly shaped by the navigable Etsch river. Of particular historical importance are the medieval village of Egna/Neumarkt with South Tyrol’s only proven Roman staging post, Endidae, and Salorno/Salurn, located on the language border at the Salurner Klause, the name of this narrow valley section.

The South Tyrolean portion of the Via Claudia Augusta, leading to Ostiglia near Verona or Quarto d’Altino near Venice, ends at Salorno.

The 80 km long Val d'Adige/Etschtal Cycle Path (Etschradweg) leads along the Via Claudia Augusta, an ancient Roman road.

The trail is mainly flat or downhill. The fantastic bike trail network in the Val Venosta/Vinschgau valley makes for relaxed biking on a good surface, i.e. either asphalt or rolled gravel.

The Val d’Adige Cycle Path (Etschradroute) is especially popular with cyclists looking for a moderate challenge. It is also possible to rent bikes at various train stations and to return them elsewhere, meaning that you do not have to bring your own bike with you. The bike tour can also be shortened or simplified at any time by using the Vinschgerbahn train.

From the Adige Valley to the mountains, visitors can cycle with constant temperatures through shady forests and flowering meadows, far away from the hustle and bustle of traffic.

Touriseum - South Tyrol Museum of Tourism
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs

The Touriseum – South Tyrol Museum for Tourism – takes visitors on a captivating journey through the evolution of holidaymaking in the Alps. Housed in Trauttmansdorff Castle, once the retreat of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the museum has been inspiring curious minds since its opening in 2003. Spanning 20 imaginatively designed themed rooms, the exhibition explores how South Tyrol transformed from a remote mountain landscape into a cosmopolitan destination of global appeal.

From the very first step inside, it becomes clear: this is no conventional museum. The Touriseum invites guests to play, discover, and reflect – through life-size stage sets, hands-on displays, and clever storytelling. One moment you’re navigating a coach through a dramatic gorge, the next you’re checking into a grand hotel or accompanying a 1950s family on holiday. Highlights include vintage travel posters by celebrated Merano artist Franz Lenhart – graphic testimonies to the art of seduction in early tourism marketing.

History here is not just told – it is experienced. The second floor is home to the Sissi Rooms, where original furnishings and personal touches evoke the spa routines of Empress Elisabeth, who helped put Merano on the map as an elite resort in the 19th century. Throughout the museum, interactive multimedia stations offer the voices of locals and visitors, each adding their own perspective to South Tyrol’s cultural transformation.

A special feature of the Touriseum is its multilingual approach: all exhibitions are presented in German and Italian, with increasing content available in English – making it highly accessible for international and younger audiences. The tone is playful, even witty – perfectly embodied in the museum’s showpiece: the world’s largest tourism-themed pinball machine, where visitors can follow the highs and lows of tourism history with a flick of the wrist.

But the Touriseum offers more than historical knowledge – it inspires curiosity about social change, design, and regional identity. The museum itself is thoughtfully curated, both visually and conceptually, and forms the perfect gateway to the nearby Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, a botanical wonderland well worth exploring in its own right.

A visit to the Touriseum is a journey into the heart of South Tyrol’s identity – where stories are told with humour, depth, and style. It’s a must for anyone who wants to go beyond the surface and understand the cultural DNA of the region.

    Sellaronda ski tour
    Corvara, Dolomites Region Alta Badia
The circuit crosses the 4 Dolomite passes - Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena - and 5 famous resorts: Corvara and Colfosco in Alta Badia, Arabba, Canazei and Selva di Val Gardena. In 2020, the Sellaronda was awarded the title of 'Best Ski Tour' by the portal skiresort.de.
Alta Badia is the ideal starting point to begin the tour, which can be done clockwise or anticlockwise: either way, you will cross 40 km of beauty and enchantment, surrounded by the extraordinary Dolomite landscapes.
Clockwise the signs are orange, anticlockwise green.
The slopes are suitable for skiers of average experience in good physical condition. For those who wish to do something more daring, there are some 'disgressions', such as the Gran Risa giant slalom slope in La Villa in Alta Badia or the Saslong descent in Santa Cristina in Val Gardena.
To complete the Sellaronda, leave about 6 hours to complete the tour, allowing enough time for ascents, descents and breaks.

    Some data:
    • Total length: 40 km (lifts and slopes)
    • Slopes: 26 km
    • Ascent time on the lifts: approx. 2 hours - calculate that waiting times are possible
    • Average duration of descents: approx. 1.5 hours
