On the 22nd of July 2025, the Patronal feast in Honor of Saint Mary Magdalene will take place at 10 a.m. in the idyllic chapel garden of Hocheppan Castle. The solemn Holy Mass will be celebrated by Parish Priest and Dean Mag. Alexander Raich, accompanied by the atmospheric singing of the Men’s Choir of Girlan, which will give the mass a special musical touch.
On this festive day, the Romanesque castle chapel opens its doors to all interested visitors from 11 am to 4 pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the impressive and unique Romanesque frescoes that adorn the chapel free of charge. These frescoes are not only a valuable work of art, but also a fascinating testimony to times gone by. Expert guides are on hand to answer your questions and give you detailed information about the castle's architectural and artistic history as well as the exceptionally well-preserved frescoes. Immerse yourself in history and let yourself be enchanted by the stories about the medieval works of art.
After the mass, the tavern of the castle with its charming garden invites you to linger. Anni and Lisa will give you a warm welcome and spoil you with a variety of culinary specialties. Enjoy traditional delicacies such as dumplings and Strauben as well as many other delicious dishes that have something to offer for every taste.

Hocheppan Castle can be reached on foot via a well-maintained network of trails from St. Pauls, Missian, Unterrain, or Perdonig. A paid shuttle service is available on request: +39 338 587 95 45.

Hocheppan Castle and the castle tavern are open daily except Wednesday from 10 am to 6 pm, hot meals are served from 11 am to 3.30 pm.

Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, Alto Adige Wine Road
For two days, Kaltern will be all about its local wines. Starting from 6 pm, on Thursday, September 4th and Friday 5th 2025, at the main square, in the heart of Kaltern, the local wine producers will offer their wines for degustation.
Visitors and wine lovers will have the chance to taste different wines, get informed by wine producers, cellar masters and wine experts and finally enjoy a nice conversation amongst wine enthusiasts.
Guided tour of the Terlan's wine path. You will hear (only in German language) about the history of winegrowing, the vineyard plots, the varieties, the vine-training systems, and the estates and mansions you will encounter on the path.
Space: 2 hours. Participation is free of charge.

The castle ruins of Festenstein can be descirbed as Andriano's symbol. It reigns over Andriano from the lofty, rocky outcrop of the Gola del Rio Gaida, Its location was certainly a pondered chioce by the stonemason to ensure the weapns of the enemies would never reach the castle. At the same time, the spectacular lcation of the castle offers a 360° view across the lower Valle dell'Adige. Festenstein was first mentioned in written documente in the mid- 13th century. In 2008, Count Meinhard Khuen Belasi purchased teh castle ruins and commissioned, together with the South Tyralean Office for Cultural Heritage, various restoration measures to secure the state of the walls and protect the caste from further dererioration.
Festenstein can only be reached via a steep montain climb.

The mythical creatures are so mysterious that they involuntarily cast a spell over the viewer. You will encounter figures such as bird-women and goat-fish, dog-headed creatures, shadow-footed creatures and many more. Let yourself be whisked away into a realm of archaic beauty and mystery. The chapel offers wonderful frescoes from the Romanesque and Gothic periods with many exciting scenes, which were created between 1220 and 1450. Duration approx. 45 minutes.

The entrance includes the musical performance and the chance to taste and enjoy a beautiful selection of wines in unique locations.

On October 25th, we invite you to the Wine Sounds event at the Ansitz of Elena Walch Winery at 10:30 AM.
The historic winery of Elena Walch will open its doors to the concert attendees. After the final notes have faded away in the historically significant courtyard, with a view of the picturesque mountain scenery, we will take you on a journey of discovery through our wine cellars.
Today, in the former Jesuit monastery, using both traditional and avant-garde techniques, Elena Walch creates her multi-award-winning wines. The charming contrast between intricately carved wooden barrels and the highly modern fermentation cellar with its architectural highlights perfectly reflects our identity and versatility.
Following the concert, there will be a tasting of selected wines in the estate's park, where you'll have the opportunity to experience it for yourself!
