Mozart wrote his six Viennese piano trios in the summer months of 1786 and 1788, probably intended for his circle of Viennese friends, where such works were particularly popular for chamber music. The trios are distinguished by their beautiful melodies, varied harmonic interweaving, and skillful combination of instruments. For many Mozart connoisseurs, some of the piano trios are among the most beautiful Mozart ever wrote. Among these are K 502 and K 542, which will be performed in the concert at the Hofburg in Bressanone, with Tobias Koch on fortepiano, Ulrike Engel on violin, and Kaspar Singer on cello.
On Saturday, 6 September 2025, from 2:00 PM, a special musical experience awaits you at S’Grillhittl as part of the “Sexten Mountain & Music” series.
Aaron and Heini will take you on a journey through traditional South Tyrolean sounds – live and authentic.
Admission is free. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon filled with regional music and great vibes.

The Sarner people – unique in character and language
“Aa söü!” (ach so! - meaning “oh, really?”) is the Sarner way of expressing interest or wonder, and with this they usually evoke bewilderment and curiosity among outsiders. For a typical Sarner is inimitable. They are well-known throughout South Tyrol for their sharp wit, and their instinctive astuteness is celebrated in countless ‘Sarner jokes’.
They love their valley and its cultural treasure trove. The Sarner dialect has survived in its original, distinctive form with melodious, sonorous endings, usually finishing with an ‘a’ or ‘aar’. The dialect is a much satirised characteristic beyond the valley’s borders and appears to others at the same time coarse and sublime. In addition, the vowel sounds and words vary considerably from place to place. Church-goers on the village squares of Sarnthein, Pens and Durnholz meet together after Sunday Mass and ‘hoangartn’, or ‘chat’. One of the best occasions to become familiar with the Sarner dialect is at South Tyrol’s best known and largest annual fair, the ‘Sarner Kirchtag’ which takes place each year on the first weekend in September.
Upcycling Band – Sustainable and Creative Music
The Upcycling Band is a fascinating ensemble of four professional percussionists and multi-instrumentalists from the Trentino-South Tyrol region. The group represents all three linguistic communities of the region – German, Italian, and Ladin – and uses music as a universal form of communication.
In the spirit of sustainability, they play exclusively on instruments and sound objects handcrafted by Max Castlunger, all made from repurposed materials. This not only creates a unique sound experience but also adds a striking visual element to their performances.
Their music is inspired by various global musical traditions, taking the audience on a journey to distant lands. On stage, they use over 50 original instruments, all crafted from recycled materials and capable of producing unexpected sounds.
The band has performed at numerous prestigious events, including the Sustainability Days in Bolzano, the 10th Bavarian CSR Day in Munich, the Ambria Jazz Festival, the Sella Ronda Hero, Runkelstein Castle, the Euregio Cultural Center Grand Hotel Toblach, the 2nd Festival of Regions in Turin, the House of Museums in Olten (CH), the Thurgau Nature Museum (CH), the Basel Historical Music Museum (CH), and many more.
Their performances are a remarkable example of creativity and sustainability in music.

Traditionally, the festival opens at 10.30 am with a field mass, after which the aroma of delicious delicacies wafts around the alpine huts: traditional farmhouse dishes such as various dumplings, Kasnockn, Tirtlan and all kinds of strudel are on the menu at the Fane Fest, and rarely are these delicacies prepared as authentically as here.
