Kastelruth/Castelrotto, Dolomites Region Seiser Alm
The traditional "Grondelbodenfest"
Below Kastelruth lies the small village of Grondelboden, the residents and guests celebrate alongside music, culinary specialties and drinks into a late summer night.
How is a “unique sound” created? And what sounds – today – are good? Jazz musicians – unlike those in European art music – have their own sound, and expression is always more important than just beautiful tone. The Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige, under the artistic direction of Stefan Festini Cucco, Max von Pretz, and Roberto Tubaro, will explore not only the new and innovative sound worlds of contemporary European jazz this summer, but will also enable the creative development of these sounds through interesting acoustic locations across the region. In many unusual resonance spaces, individual sounds will be generated – and live-modified during the concerts.
The musical explorations will begin on the opening night of the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige on June 27. The Amsterdam-based Brainteaser Orchestra, which was awarded the German Jazz Prize in 2021 for its debut album, will perform in various locations within the NOI Techpark in Bolzano. Further sound experiments will follow: French flautist Delphine Joussein will hold a solo concert in a spacious hall at the Bolzano trade fair, and guitarist Reinier Baas will travel nearly a kilometer into the former Prettau mine in the Ahrntal by mine train, before unpacking his guitar in the Klimastollen to give another solo concert. The "sound of nature" will be integrated into contemporary jazz above ground. Finnish drummer Tatu Rönkko and the saxophonist Damian Dalla Torre, who grew up in Sterzing, will host a sound workshop in the old Pforzheimer Hütte and in the alpine border area between the Val Venosta and Switzerland. The festival will also offer two other sound excursions to the Juac Hut and the Mont de Sëura Alm in the Dolomites of Val Gardena.
Over 50 concerts will take place from June 27 to July 6 in many different locations across South Tyrol. Concert venues include the Bunker H in Fagen Street in Bolzano, the Franzensfeste Fortress, the Roner Distillery in Termeno, the Ost West Club in Merano, the exhibition halls of the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation in Bolzano, the Poschhausstollen in Ridnaun, the Bozen Filmclub, the Harpf beverage store in Brunico, the Stanglerhof in Fie allo Sciliar, the Rittner Horn, the town square in Sterzing, as well as the Waaghaus and the park of Hotel Laurin in Bolzano. New this year are – in addition to the Prettau mine – the Hotel Pragser Wildsee, the former prison "Tschumpus" in Brixen, and the Pünthof in Algund. At the Sudwerk of the Batzenhäusl in Bolzano, in addition to the late-night concerts, the "Kabarila" concert performance will take place for the third time: a five-hour jazz ritual where the audience can either dance or simply listen and enjoy the music.
Il corno di montagna, esistente anche in lunghezze diverse, viene suonato in Europa dal 1870 sui confini svizzeri – austriaci. Questo strumento è intagliato in legno d’abete ed ha la lunghezza di 3,20m in tonalità del sol.

Today the sun is rising over the Rittner Horn and we Magdalener wine-freaks are waiting exactly for you at the Feltuner Hütte! The team of the Feltuner Hütte serves the right kind of food and the event is surrounded with good music! From 11 a.m. until the last lift cabin downwards you aren’t going to miss anything! Price: € 15.
It's the year 2025. The whole of South Tyrol is entirely occupied by white wine. The whole of South Tyrol? Well not entirely! One small village has not been defeated for exactly 100 years and relies on tried and true varieties!
They have named the magic potion they produce after the saint of their little church: ST. MAGDALENER!
Just like for the legionaries around Asterix and Obelix's village in ancient Gaul, life around the Magdalena church isn't easy for the winemakers. Extremely steep vineyards and sometimes barren soils demand 100% effort and
endurance.
No problem for the wild horde of Next.Gen.Magdaleners! We celebrate a successful vintage and are excited to hear your thoughts. For the third time, we invite you to taste and celebrate this unique wine with us. The spectacular
setting at Rittner Horn is again complemented by culinary highlights from the kitchen of Feltuner Hütte, and then there's music from rock to today!
Are you a sommelier looking for an event where you can taste the wines of an entire region? You're in the right place!
Are you a biker in need of a pick-me-up after pedaling all those kilometers?
Welcome!
Are you a mom or a dad?
The TONI adventure trail at Rittner Horn leads right up to Feltuner Hütte!
Do you have an Idefix that needs to get out on Saturdays?
Rittner Horn is a dog paradise!
Or are you more of the type who says, ”Just let me sit in the sun, listen to some music, and drink a good glass of
wine!”?
If the sun doesn't come out (which we don't believe, because we've invited her and the offer is really delicious) and the mountain weather is very bad, unfortunately, we'll have to stay in the valley and wait for next year.
Your Next.Gen.Magdaleners

Four musicians from the Salzburg regions of Pongau and Lungau roam through the realms of folk music and the alpine and rocky landscapes. In the Saligenwerkstatt, new songs, tunes, and contemporary texts are created. The four also rediscover old yodels, songs, and pieces, interpreting them with a playful spirit and a passion for experimentation.
All of this comes together to form folk music in the original sense: music that has never paid attention to drawn boundaries. Stories are also woven into the concerts — stories of the rock gardens of the Wild Women, their encounters with people, and love. Through it all, a playful, feminine perspective on life’s aspects cannot be denied...
Katharina Pföß – Clarinet, vocals
Anneliese Schneider – Cello, vocals
Lydia Weiß – Harp, hammered dulcimer, vocals
