Pumpkin gnocchi with smoked ham

Autumn is pumpkin time, isn't it? These gnocchi are a little bit of work, but it's worth for a delicious dish like this.


Basic information

    • 300 g pumpkin, cleaned 
    • 2 eggs 
    • 350 g flour 
    • ½ glass water 
    • salt and pepper 
    • 120 g leek 
    • 1 hot chilli pepper 
    • 60 g butter 
    • 100 g smoked ham 
    • 2–3 tbsps South Tyrolean hard cheese or Parmesan


Boil the pumpkin and blend. Add the flour, eggs, water, salt and pepper, before shaping into a firmish dough. Mould into small dumplings and then drop into boiling water. As soon as they rise to the surface, they are ready to eat and can be removed. Quick-fry the leek and the chilli pepper in butter. Add the smoked ham, cut into strips, and then arrange on a serving dish with the gnocchi. Before serving, sprinkle over a little hard cheese or Parmesan.
