The weekly market in Laives offers a large selection of clothing as well as South Tyrolean specialities such as vegetables, fruit, bread and bacon.
Every Thursday from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, you have the opportunity to stroll through the Via Kennedy in the section between the junction with Via Pietralba and the junction with Via Galizia. If Thursday is a public holiday, the market will take place on Wednesday.
Every Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m. until midday, you can buy fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables, as well as homemade honey, directly from local farmers and producers. The farmers' market is located on Via Pietralba in the centre of Laives.
The Language Café is a way to practise speaking a foreign language in company and in an informal environment.
At the Don Bosco Library in Laives you will find a moderator for each table, i.e. for each language. Depending on the language you want to practise in, choose your table, sit down and... start chatting! You will talk to the moderator or moderator and the other people like you sitting at that table. If you get tired, you can safely leave or change tables. In general, it is recommended that you have a basic knowledge of your chosen language in order to be able to follow the conversation and participate actively.
As part of the traditional European Heritage Days, 28 September 2025 will be dedicated to the rediscovery and enhancement of an Iron Age hill fort on the summit of the Monte Largo/Breitenberg mountain on the border between the municipalities of Laives/Leifers and Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente: the Enzbirch.
The programme includes an official and social part at the Hochegg winery on the Monte Largo/Breitenberg with music and wine tastings as well as a series of specialist guided tours of the archaeological site.
The large market in Laives takes place once a year in spring and once in autumn and offers numerous stalls along Via Kennedy and Via Pietralba in the city centre.
From the 18th of October to the 8th of November 2025 local wines and great music will be the protagonists of the third edition of WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. On Thursday, 6th November 2025, starting at 6.30 p.m., the unique Rock Cellar in Vadena will host an evening with music for harp and violin by the Duo Aurora and wines from the Laimburg Winery, which will be served in the underground tasting room carved into the rock.
The Duo Aurora consists of two musicians who have been playing together for over 15 years: Christine Hübner on harp and Viktoria Gögele on violin. Thanks to the versatility of the harp and the elegance of the violin, they move with ease through classical and modern music, from J. S. Bach to film music.
Over the course of the evening, selected wines from the Laimburg Winery will be served: to start, a white wine during an aperitif, and during the concert interval, a red wine accompanied by a traditional charcuterie board. A tasting wine and a guided tour of the impressive rock cellar, with its wine archive and archaeological finds, will round off the evening.
