From August 30th to 14th September 2025, the local hotels and restaurants delight you with dishes based on the Barbian plum and in the stores you can buy special products such as plum bread, jam, plum strudel and much more. During the plum weeks guided plum excursions also take place in Barbian: On 3th. 6th and 16th September 2025 you will learn all kinds of interesting facts about Barbian's delicacy on the plum trail and enjoy great plum dishes at a stop. The Villanders mine in the Eisack Valley, with a wide view of the Dolomites, was one of the most important mining areas in Tyrol in the Middle Ages. At that time, silver, galena, copper and much more were mined. The Villanders Culture and Museum Association has carefully restored the mine in recent years. It is now one of the few mines in South Tyrol that is open to visitors. Guided tours only from April to October on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 and 14:30, Sundays at 10:30 (duration approx. 1.5 h) In July & August additionally on Wednesdays at 10:30 (duration approx. 2 h). IMPORTANT: arrive at the mine at least 10 minutes in advance! Individual special tours are available all year round on request. All prices can be found on the mine's website.

The local hiking guide will lead you on this easy circular hike to the show distillery. It goes past high moors, watercourses and alpine meadows. On the way, the lunch break is held alternately at a hut. Free of charge for holders of the Guest Pass and guests of member establishments. (Transportation and lunch not included)

Not only in the Sarentino Valley, the valley of the mountain pines, does the mountain pine grow, but also on the acidic silicate soils of the Villandro Alp. The power of this mountain plant is immense. The beneficial and fragrant essential oil is perfect for relaxing baths, for infusions and compresses, or as an ingredient in scrubs. In an aroma lamp, the scent helps to improve the room atmosphere. Every Monday, a distillation demonstration takes place. All interested visitors can gain insight into how the mountain pine is processed into essential oil.

We are accompanied to the charming Feldthurner and Latzfonser Alm mountain pastures with interesting facts about mountain pasture management and insights into the splendour of the flowers. We are rewarded with a marvellous view of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. There is the opportunity to stop for refreshments at the Klausner hut. Route: From Kühhof via hiking trail no. 13 to the Klausner Hütte, back via trail no. 1. If good weather, we take the longer route via no. 14 + no. 8. The Alpe di Barbiano is a perfect starting point for lovely hiking tours to the Corno del Renon, the most beautiful viewpoint of South Tyrol. Free guided tours of the Swiss Mountain Pine Oil Distillery on the Alps of Barbiano/Barbian from 14th May until 29th October 2025 every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm. We take the hotel bus to Ortisei, from there we take the funicular railway to a high plateau of 2,107 m, then we continue on trail no. 31 and no. 35 for approx. 1.5 hours along a beautiful high-altitude trail with unforgettable impressions to the Brogles Alm 2045, short rest, from Brogles approx. 1.5 hours with a slight up and down on trail no. 34 towards Geisler Alm, alpine rest with refreshments.... Path no. 36 then no. 35 again, approx. 1.5 hours via the beautiful Adolf Munkel path via Tschanschanon to the Zanser Alm where we are taken back to Gufidaun by bus. Guided walking-tour to Kneipp at the waterfall of Barbian. "Everything we need to stay healthy has been generously given to us by nature," said pastor Sebastian Kneipp. Water, nutrition, exercise, medicinal herbs and life order - on this hike you will experience the holistic health concept of Kneipp. Water-treading in the cool mountain stream, barefoot-walking and feeling the soil, get to know the medicinal herbs and wild herbs along the way and relaxation exercises in the open air: a refreshing, relaxing hike on the trail of Kneipp. Walking time: 3 hours, return at 1 pm. The farmers sell their fresh products at the square "Tinneplatz" from 8:00 - 12:30. Fresh, seasonal food and typical South Tyrolean products are available at the farmers' market in Klausen.

The Radlsee refuge is located high above the Eisack Valley on the legendary Radlsee lake in the basin between the Königangerspitze and Hundskopf peaks. On the way, we learn a lot about alpine herbs, mountain farming and the formation of the Alps and Dolomites. The moderately difficult hike is worthwhile with its breathtaking mountain panorama and relaxing tranquillity on the mountain. On September 14, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m., the traditional Barbiano Plum Festival will take place in Barbiano, featuring a variety of delicacies made from the local Barbiano plum, at the festival square in Barbiano. Musical entertainment will be provided by various groups such as the "Lengsteiner Böhmischen" and "Duo Flexibel". The Barbian farmers' wives and the brass band of barbian take care of your physical well-being with traditional plum dishes. We look forward to seeing you there!

When autumn begins in the southern Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, it starts also the so-called Törggele-season. Chiusa/Klausen celebrates the beginning of this ancient tradition with a big festival. From 19th September to 21st September, the artist's city Chiusa dedicates itself entirely to the traditions of the "Törggelen" and transforms itself into some kind of outdoor tavern. Through the streets of the town, gastronomic stands offer various South Tyrolean specialties, such as Knödel, Schlutzkrapfen, sausages with sauerkraut (fermented cabbage), doughnuts, Strauben and roasted chestnuts. A rich selection of white wines from the Valle Isarco completes the culinary offer. The festival has also a colourful entertainment program and a lot of popular music.

From 22nd September to 28th September 2025, the participating restaurants in the little villages Verdings and Pradell dedicate a culinary week to the pear flour served with traditional dishes.
