In our restaurant (120 seats) you can enjoy the local cuisine, the pizzas made in the wood-burning oven, the wide variety of pasta specialties and fresh salads from the buffet. In the cozy wine tavern or in the large and shady beer garden you can taste a glass of fine wine from our wine cellar.

For those of you who enjoy things the traditional way, you will feel right at home in our Pizza & Bistro section of Hardimitz‘n, located on the ground floor. Here you can experience the South Tyrolean way of life, with its exquisite pizzas baked in a wood fired oven, its touches of Mediterranean and the lovingly furnished rustic "Stuben". In addition, we offer colourful variety of salads, appetizers, finger foods and aperitives as well as fantastic chicken wings and other delicious selections to indulge your desires. The Restaurant & Steakhouse can be found on the second floor of Hardimitz‘n. Its interior design is truly magnificent and will surely take your breath away while you enjoy your meal. Sigmund is one the most tradition-steeped restaurants in Meran’s Old Town. Located near the pedestrian area, at the Bozner Gate, it offers excellent South Tyrolean home-style cooking with some culinary forays into Italy. Special emphasis is placed on a wonderful preparation of local products. The menu changes regularly, ensuring that guests are always treated to new creations. Sigmund’s guest rooms were custom-built using various types of natural wood, and offer lovely views of Meran’s Old Town. A central location makes Sigmund an ideal starting point for walks and excursions.

The starting idea of La Smorfia, a project launched back in 2014, was to take a good pizza to Merano. Our mission is to use one of the most popular courses of Italian tradition to spread products, flavours and recepies through iconic Mediterraneancuisine plates. We have been so successful in doing this that the project evolved in 2021 into "The South in Tyrol", an improvement of our offer which enabled us to pair our food choice with the national enological richness. Throughout this constant growing process we got to La Smorfia Experience, a room dedicated to a more rational culinary approach, a whole access to food and wines from our cellar. The renowned international guide Falstaff awarded us in 2022 as the best pizzeria in South Tyrol.

CEO is a winery in South Tyrol’s Unterland – situated in the extreme south of South Tyrol. The loamy soils – conveyed here over the centuries by periodic flooding of the Etsch / Adige River until it was regulated – form the foundation for the cultivation of grapes yielding very refined, elegant white wines, but also full-bodied, heady red wines. By rigorously regulating the yield, we support natural processes in harmony with nature so as to grow grapes suitable for the production of great wines. We cultivate five different varieties of grape in our own vineyards located in the Unterland of South Tyrol.

The Flora inn is located where the courthouse was, back in 1400. It was then turned into a restaurant, actually being the first starred one for a certain time. Placed in the upper Portici, the Flora, now a tavern, proposes Italian courses, homemade pasta, regional and Venetian top quality ingredients. There is also a wide choice of cicchetti/spuncetti, the small appetisers of the Venetian cuisine. This tavern is the perfect location for lunches, dinners and private parties with live music.

South Tyrolean cuisine

The Resciesa Alpine Hut has been newly build and this historical place for Val Gardena was reopened in winter 2010/2011. The hut lies 1,4 km (0.8 miles) west of the uphill station of the new funicular that takes you from downtown Ortisei to the mountains of Resciesa. You reach our hut after a 30 minutes walk on a flat, comfortable path. During the winter you can descend on sleds from the hut all the way to Ortisei. We offer typical dishes with an eye to local tradition. You can also stay for one or more nights: we have comfortable double rooms with private bathroom or shared rooms.

The Latzfons Cross (2.300m) is the highest pilgrimage site in South Tyrol and one of the highest in Europe.
