Our hut is easily reachable starting from the elementary school in Weißenbach/Rio Bianco (walking time approx. 30 min., suitable for baby strollers), starting from the hut Schnaidaleachn on the exercise path (walking time approx. 45 min.) or starting from the church on the herbs path (walking time approx. 40 min.).

Discover without car – good connection with the public transport; connecting path to the hut Schwarzbachalm (walking time approx. 1,1/2 h).

Easy walk on the sunny side of the Ahrntal valley, open all year, ideal destination for families and seniors – with children’s playground and sun-terrace.

In the cold season a beautiful winter hiking trail leads to our hut.

Are you looking for a cosy place to relax after an exhausting hiking tour? Visit our hut and enjoy the stunning panoramic view over the mountains of the Ahrntal valley and taste typical delicious plates! In Winter we are the perfect place for relax and fun during a nice skiing-day! You find us directly opposite the mountain station of the cable car Klausberg.

Keen to experience 3,000 m peaks so close you can reach out and touch them? Then take the K2, South Tyrol’s highest eight passenger gondola lift, up to 2,510 m above sea level on Klausberg. The varied, wide ski runs in the Klausberg ski area are a dream come true and every skier will have the chance to chose a favourite slope. Meanwhile, international ski professionals prefer to train for the slalom event on the particularly long, icy 'Steinhaus' slope. In the mountain pasture down at the bottom, kids can learn to ski in a playful way with magic carpets, as 'Klausi' the marmot watches over the slides and the igloo in the children's playland. Older ones should check out the ideally equipped snow park, the ‘speed line,’ or the 'Klausberg Flitzer' Alpine Coaster. With so much to experience, it’s small wonder that the Klausberg ski area in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley has already received several awards as one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in Italy.

Our cosy hut is located directly on the toboggan run „Tristenbach“ (in the evening illuminated). From Weißenbach/Rio Bianco you can reach us on foot, with snow shoes or with touring ski (walking time approx. 1 ½ hours). We are awaiting you with delicious traditional dishes!

You can relax in a cosy ambience after a hiking tour through the Tauferer Ahrntal and spoil yourself with sweet delicacies. After an awesome skiing day in winter you can warm-up with a hot tea. We always offer finest cakes, tortes and specialities from the region in our cabinet. Different kinds of coffees, teas and cool beverages satisfy your thirst. Our ice-cream specialities help you to cool down, especially in the hot season.

A uniquely situated viewpoint above Sand in Taufers

Families in particular will feel at home on the gentle slopes of the Speikboden ski area in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley, where about half of the wide pistes are classified as easy. The Family fun park offers fun for young and old and the snow park gives freestylers the chance to practice their latest tricks. Long carving turns are best enjoyed next to the Sonnklar lift. The ski area’s cable cars will take you up to 2,400 m above sea level, where you can enjoy the scenery of the surrounding three thousand metre peaks either from the viewing tower or on one of the many marked snowshoe hiking trails. An overnight stay in an igloo is one of the romantic highlights of the snow-secure Speikboden ski area. Family fun is not in short supply thanks to the two toboggan runs. At ten and eight km, they are the longest toboggan runs in South Tyrol.

This bike tour is an experience for athletes and hobby cyclists and can of course also be enjoyed in sections. The adventure route can be started either at the valley entrance or in St. Peter/San Pietro. It is recommended that inexperienced "cyclists" plan the tour out of the valley.

The "Mostan" skatepark offers fun and action for all ages! Whether on a skateboard or rollerblades – everyone will find something to enjoy. An ideal place for families to be active together and enjoy the thrill of movement.

Who does not have a bicycle can rent a good bike in one of the various rental stations in Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers.

Creative and tasty dishes in a cosy Tyrolean ambience. Besides the extensive daily menu you can choose grilled meat, fish, game specialties or other culinary delights from our menu. Delicious ice cream, cakes, and pies are home-made.
