The quaint village of Scena is nestled upon a sunny hill above Merano/Meran with the imposing Schloss Schenna castle looming magnificently over the centre of town. Between 600 and 1,500 m high, holidays here are characterised by cultural and scenic variety. In the lower areas, featuring palm and cypress trees, the Mediterranean and urban flair are palpable. In contrast, rural life and numerous hiking trails with magnificent views await discovery in the higher areas. In addition to the Schloss Schenna, cultural highlights include the mausoleum of Archduke John of Austria as well as four churches from eight different centuries.
