Holidays in the Schnalstal valley

Ötzi the Iceman, glaciers and hiking trails in the Schnalstal valley in Meran/Merano and environs

Holidays in the Schnalstal valley are brimming with possibilities. Within the space of just a few kilometres, the impressive landscape stretches from 500 to 3200 m elevation. The famous Ötzi the Iceman was found in the Schnalstal valley. Lively information about the subject is available at the ArcheoParc museum.  The Schnalstaler Gletscher glacier ski area is particularly exciting. Perfect ski conditions begin already in autumn for both skiing and snowboarding. In summertime,  300 km of marked hiking trails are the perfect foundation for an active holiday.

These are examples of small producers and agricultural models, rooted in artisanal and traditional knowledge and the core of our four Slow Food circles.
