The Gais Culture Path leads over the stream divide to Neuhaus Castle and is the perfect invitation to meditating or just lounging around. Along the path, artists have installed works with which prominent personalities are acknowledged who formerly lived and worked in Gais. They are the troubadour Oswald von Wolkenstein, American poet Ezra Pound, his daughter Mary de Rachewiltz, and the sculptors Heinrich and Franz Bacher. At the same time, for attentive observers, the path presents itself as an enrichment for the soul, a silent bit of happiness in an increasingly loud world. Even though its total length is two kilometers (a mile and a quarter), at many places there is a clear view on the former Gais scree cone, on the village itself with its Romanesque church, and on the facing hill on which the majestic remnants of the Chela-Kehlburg fortress stands.

The hike to Spitzhorn starts at the parking area near the Alpen Lift. From there, follow the paved road marked with trail no. 5 to the Olangerhof Hotel. Just behind the hotel, continue along trail no. 5B. Shortly before the reservoir, turn left onto trail no. 2, which leads directly to the summit of Spitzhorn.
Pro tip: You can enjoy lunch at the Olangerhof Hotel, but only with a reservation – a perfect spot for a relaxing break before the climb.

This varied hike connects the mountain village of Geiselsberg with Reischach via trail no. 14. The route passes through shaded forests and quiet clearings, with occasional panoramic views of the Puster Valley. It’s a great choice for hikers who enjoy longer routes in peaceful surroundings. The tour ends in Reischach, at the foot of Kronplatz, where several restaurants and cafés offer a welcome rest.

On this stage, you will immerse yourself deeply in the legendary mountain landscape of the Dolomites. The trail leads you through the picturesque Tiers Valley and repeatedly offers breathtaking views of the majestic Rosengarten | Catinaccio massif, renowned for the so-called "Enrosadira" – the Alpenglow. Particularly impressive is the transition to the Niger Pass | Passo Nigra, from where the view opens up to the Latemar massif and the surrounding alpine meadows.

From the parish church in Niederolang, follow trail no. 15 towards the Riedler farms and continue through the Riedwald forest to Lamprechtsburg Castle. From there, trail no. 14 leads you all the way to Bruneck.
The route is easy, about 8.5 km long with around 200 m of elevation gain – perfect for a relaxed 2-hour hike.
For the return to Olang, you can conveniently take public transport, which is free with the Kronplatz Guest Pass.

A beautiful snowshoe hike with moderate difficulty and beautiful view on the Dolomites, as well as on the main Alpine ridge and the Rieserferner peaks.

Before you start for a snowshoe hike you should always consult the avalanche and weather report!

From Geiselsberg (approx. 1,350 m), trail no. 3 leads continuously uphill along forest and mountain paths to the Kronplatz plateau (2,275 m). The ascent takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and requires good stamina, but is rewarded with breathtaking 360° panoramic views. At the top, several huts and restaurants invite you to take a well-deserved break. Visitors can also explore the MMM Corones by Reinhold Messner and the LUMEN Museum of Mountain Photography – both architecturally and thematically impressive highlights.

The „Gaisinger Waalweg“ is a popular attraction, which not only offers a great hiking experience for all, young and old, but also provides interesting cultural and historical insights.

This more challenging hike begins in Bad Bergfall and follows trail no. 4 all the way up to the summit of Kronplatz. The steady ascent takes you through quiet forest sections, gradually revealing stunning views over the Puster Valley and the Dolomites. At the top, a breathtaking 360° panorama awaits. Several mountain huts and restaurants on the summit offer the perfect opportunity for a well-deserved break – from traditional South Tyrolean dishes to modern alpine cuisine. A rewarding tour for experienced and fit hikers.

Easy hike to one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the Pustertal valley, whose little church " Unserer Lieben Frau von Loreto" was built around the middle of the 17th century.

Archaeological thematic hike in St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo, around the hill "Sonnenburger Kopf". 

This scenic summit hike begins at the parking lot of the Ruis cable car at Furkel Pass. Follow trail no. 1 from there. After two wide bends, turn left into the forest. The shaded path climbs steadily and leads all the way to the summit of Kronplatz.

At the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views and several dining options– perfect for a well-deserved break with a view.

This leisurely walk next to the river Rienz leads from St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo to Bruneck/Brunico.

Through a gate you reach the theme trail "Steine erzählen" (The rocks tell a tale). It goes through fields and meadows, past copses of hazel, dog rose, elder, bird cherry and blackthorn, past old dry stone walls overgrown with moss and lichen, as well as a very carefully layered wall, with beautiful seats in the inserted niches, and at the end it leads back through the same gate to the starting point.

The Concordia 360° panoramic trail is ideal for families with children (also suitable for strollers). At and around the summit of Plan de Corones you will find various attractions that will captivate young and old. The MMM Corones, the LUMEN Museum, the Peace Bell Concordia 2000 with its panoramic relief of the surrounding mountains, the giant swing Skyskraper, various children's activities and much more await you along the circular path!


The 360° hike pays tribute to these grand vistas by directing the eye to the unique geological features of the surroundings: the Dolomites in the south and the main ridge of the Central Alps to the north. The trail is dotted with viewpoints designed and skilfully staged by local artist Helmut Pizzinini, highlighting the jaw-dropping uniqueness of the landscape.

The walk to the earth pyramids of Plata is suitable for families and leads to a unique attraction in the Dolomites. 

This hike is demanding and recommended for those who are well-trained. Lanebach is the last completely preserved mountain school in the entire alpine region and is considered unique. Visit available on request only (phone +39 348 7735477 - Mr. Hochgruber)!

Easy and family-friendly hike, from Pfalzen to the Inn Irenberg.

From Niederrasen or Oberrasen (following the mark n. 4 or 3) > up to Redensberg > take the paths with the marks n. 4, 1a and 17 to Aschbach > Niedristhof (rest station) > earth pyramids (the last stretch is quite steep). To go back to Rasen take the same path on the opposite direction or as an alternative continue until Platten and Oberwielenbach (mark n. 16) and lastly Percha (possibly by bus from Percha to Rasen).

This scenic hike begins in the mountain village of Geiselsberg and descends along trail no. 14 to Bad Bergfall. The varied route leads through meadows and open woodlands, offering lovely views down into the valley. It’s an easy trail, perfect for a relaxed half-day outing.

From the hamlet of Ellen, a hike leads to the traditional alpine tavern Walderalm, surrounded by flowering meadows, which invites you to take an enjoyable break with a view on the Bruneck valley basin.

Situated at an altitude of 2,275 metres, the Via Artis is the highest located open-air art gallery in the world! This 6 km circular trail features different works of regional artists which you can enjoy alongside the impressive backdrop of the Dolomites and the main Alpine divide. As they are crafted out ofthe damaged wood caused by storm Vaja in 2018 as well as the massive snow load damages in 2019, the exhibited artworks represent a further contribute to our endeavours towards a more sustainable future. Moreover, at its three access points, the Via Artis provides you with interesting insights into three topics of major importance for the Kronplatz/Plan de Corones: the Kronplatz military trail, protection of our flora, our alpine pastures in between tradition, tourism and economy.

Easy, three-hour hike around the top of Mount Kronplatz, suitable for all hiking levels.

From Niederrasen / Redensberg (1,379m) > path nr. 4 > Aschbach Alm hut and Redensberger Alm hut 1,945m (not managed).

The hike to Mühlbacher Badl starts at the Mühlbachtal parking lot and follows trail no. 2. The leisurely walk takes about 30 minutes and leads through the picturesque Mühlbachtal, accompanied by the soothing sound of the stream. At the end of the trail, you reach Mühlbacher Badl, a charming spot perfect for relaxing and unwinding. This short but rewarding hike is ideal for those who enjoy nature and tranquility.

The LandArt Trail in Pfalzen is a wonderful, family-friendly hike that starts at the Pfalzen sports zone. The circular trail takes about an hour and leads through a picturesque landscape adorned with artworks in nature. The art installations along the trail invite you to experience nature creatively and offer a special atmosphere that delights both adults and children. The trail is easy to walk and perfect for a relaxing outing with the whole family.

There is a great treasure trove of legends in the village of St. Lorenzen. In order to bring it to the attention of the community, the 3 km long Legend Trail was established. It is based on the collection of legends by the old master of Tyrolean legend research Johann A. Hezl. Pupils from the primary school designed the picture boards for the ten stations.

The snowshoe hike on the Cima Lasta/Astjoch Peak (2,194 m) is one of the most rewarding things to do in the area. The magnificent summit view of the surrounding mountains is simply impressive.
