A hike through young forests with a beautiful view of the Geisler di Afers, Sas de Putia and Mount Gabler. 

Itinerary

• Hiking time: 3h 30min • Trail numbers: 11, 10B, 10 • From St. Peter (1150 m), follow trail no. 11 passing by the farm Gsoihof to the chapel Vikolerbild (1363 m). Follow the asphalted road for about 30 min. to the farm Putzerhof (1490 m). Shortly before the farm, you have to turn right onto trail no. 11 which leads slightly ascending past the stream Plauer Bach and across the alp Kaserboden to the cross Russis (1715 m). Hike again on the asphalted road in the direction of Afers (for about 500 m), turn left onto trail no. 10B and then turn right to reach the car park Eistil Boden (1653 m). There, trail no. 10 starts and leads directly to the alpine hut Halslhütte (1866 m). In summer there is the possibility to return to St. Peter by public bus.

In the event of fresh snow, not all hiking trails can be groomed and opened at the same time. Please note that sometimes there can be dangerous icing on the paths.

Directions

Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa; turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to St. Peter
