The hike over Samberg starts in the charming village center of Eggen and leads you through gentle meadows and forests to one of the region’s finest farm taverns: Häusler Sam. Here, you’ll find a warm place to rest and enjoy breathtaking surroundings. This varied route offers stunning views of the Dolomites and is perfect for hikers seeking peace, nature, and culinary delights in a relaxed atmosphere. The return path leads back comfortably to Eggen, perfectly completing this enjoyable tour.
Start at the village center of Eggen (1120 m). Follow trail [7] past the Grotthof farm. Continue on trail [S] to the Häusler Sam tavern, perfect for a break. Return via trail [8] to the Bewallerhof farm, then continue on trail [8B] to the Wagger house. Finally, follow trails [8] and [10] back to the village of Eggen.
Getting to the starting point of the tour by public transport is easy and convenient.
By public bus line:
- 181 or 180 from Bozen | Bolzano,
- 180 or 184 from Karersee | Lago di Carezza , Karerpass | Passo Costalunga, Welschnofen | Nova Levante
- 184 from Birchabruck | Pont Nova, Stenk, Obereggen
- 184 or 181 from Weissenstein | Pietralba, Petersberg | Monte San Pietro, Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente
- 182 from Steinegg | Collepietra , Gummer | San Valentino
- 180 from Vigo di Fassa
