This route includes long climbs and technically demanding sections. Good fitness and basic mountain biking experience are recommended. Always wear a helmet and dress for changing weather. Some gravel parts can become slippery when wet.
A well-maintained mountain bike with reliable brakes and climbing gears is essential. Bring gloves, breathable clothing, a backpack with water and snacks, a basic repair kit and, if possible, a GPS device or offline map to stay on track.

This tour takes you close to two fascinating medieval sites. Hocheppan Castle features rare Romanesque frescoes, including the famous “Dumpling Eater,” a unique artwork of Alpine storytelling. Just a short distance away, the ruins of Boymont Castle await, with a five-story tower offering sweeping views of the valley. Both castles offer inviting taverns where you can taste authentic South Tyrolean dishes.
