Easy vineyard walk from Kurtatsch to Tramin through vineyards and orchards with scenic views and insights into South Tyrol’s wine-growing tradition.

This leisurely stroll follows a country road through the vineyards to Tramin. At the halfway mark, in the tiny hamlet of Rungg, there is a farmer's inn offering drinks and snacks where you can rest (closed Wednsedays). After a visit to Tramin, we follow the same road back to Kurtatsch.

Itinerary
The hike starts in the centre of Kurtatsch. Follow a quiet agricultural road through the vineyards towards Tramin. The trail crosses the typical landscape between vineyards and orchards, offering beautiful views over the Adige Valley. A stop is possible at the small settlement of Rungg. The route continues to Tramin, a village famous for Gewürztraminer wine and its historic centre. Return to Kurtatsch along the same path.

Overview
The route is easy and follows well-maintained paths. During summer, many sections are exposed to the sun, so bring enough water and sun protection.

Autumn during the grape harvest is a particularly beautiful time for this walk, with colourful vineyards and a lively wine-growing atmosphere.
Take the train to Neumarkt-Tramin railway station and continue by bus to Kurtatsch or Tramin. Check current timetables before travelling.
Directions
Take the A22 motorway to the Neumarkt-Auer exit and continue along the South Tyrolean Wine Road towards Kurtatsch.
Parking
Parking is available in the centre of Kurtatsch.
