Starting from the center of Brixen/Bressanone, this leisurely hike follows the river and ascends to the Karlspromenade trail above the town. From the Sanctuary of Maria am Sand it leads back through Kranebitt to the old quarter of Stufels/Stufles.
This circular hike starts at Adlerbrücke/ Ponte Aquila (561 m) and leads through the beautifully landscaped Rappanlagen garden to the confluence of the Rienz and Eisack rivers. The route follows the orographically left bank of the Eisack River to the pedestrian bridge near the Lido. Shortly after, a path branches off through a residential area to Oswald von Wolkenstein Street and continues to the Milland sports field.
From there, the trail ascends past the historic Winkelhof estate to the pilgrimage church of Maria am Sand (640 m). It then follows the “Karlspromenade” and the Psalms Path with no major inclines to the Plabacher Chapel. After crossing the Lüsner Road, the route winds through a shady forest to the Andreas Hofer Bridge (570 m), where you cross the Rienz River.
The final stretch leads along a scenic path to the Seeburg (660 m), then on to Kranebitt and through the narrow alleys of the picturesque Stufels district, ending back at the starting point: the Adler Bridge.
