Restaurant valley farm "Mutkopf" – your last stop on the way to the Mutpeak. The Mutkopf restaurant valley farm is an idyllic hiking destination with astonishing views over the Adige Valley (Merano side), the Venosta Valley up to the Ortler range and onto the peaks of the south-tyrolean Dolomites to the south. The Restaurant valley farm Mutkopf and the guesthouse Talbauer (Locanda) are run by members of the same family. A winding trail climbs up the mountain from the Talbauer, through the shaded forests up to a natural panoramic plateau. Here - at a height of 1684m - lies the guesthouse Mutkopf. This establishment is the last stop for hikers on the way to the Mutpeak and an ideal resting opportunity halfway to the lakes of Sopranes into the fascinating mountain landscape of the Texel Nature Park.

Enjoy Italian coffee and choose from an array of delicious cream cakes, fruit flans and other baked goodies at our cake buffet. Our homemade specialities, for example strawberry cake, strawberry roulade, apple and quark strudel and, in autumn, our plum cake, are particularly popular with our guests.

We can be accessed via the Hochmuth cable car; via the Vellauer Felsenweg trail, from the Leiteralm along the Merano High Mountain Trail; via the Tiroler Kreuz inn.

The Sandgruberhof is located in the pedestrian zone leading to Tyrol Castle, around 10 minutes on foot from the center of the village. The historic structure of the Sandgruberhof has been fundamentally preserved to the present day. It is easy to forget time and space in the centuries-old vaulted cellar, in the garden with its spectacular views and whilst enjoying the lovingly prepared dishes and delicacies.

The Talbauer Inn in Tirolo is in an impressive panoramic location. Especially favored by the climate, the Talbauer Inn sits at 1,200 m a.s.l. like an eagle's nest on the side of the Mut mountain above the spa town of Merano. You can reach us from Dorf Tirol starting from the restaurant Tiroler Kreuz following the forest road; from Kuens following the irrigation channel path Kuenser Waalweg; along the Merano high altitude route (Meraner Höhenweg).
