This winter hike takes you from the spiritual pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein through peaceful, snow-covered forests up to the picturesque Petersberger Leger Alm. Surrounded by the stunning Dolomite mountains, the tranquil atmosphere invites you to breathe deeply and enjoy the moment. The gentle ascent and crisp winter air make this route especially pleasant – perfect for nature lovers, families, and anyone seeking a relaxing winter escape.
The hike starts at the pilgrimage site Maria Weißenstein (parking near the church). From here, follow Forest Trail [2], which gently climbs through snowy woods to the Petersberger Leger Alm.
Return on the same path to the starting point.
Getting to the starting point of the tour by public transport is easy and convenient.
By public bus line:
- 180 or 181 from Bozen | Bolzano
- 180 or 184 from Karersee | Lago di Carezza, Karerpass | Passo Costalunga, Welschnofen | Nova Levante
- 184 from Birchabruck | Ponte Nova, Stenk, Eggen | Ega
- 184 from Petersberg | Monte San Pietro, Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente
- 182 from Steinegg | Collepietra, Gummer | San Valentino
- 180 from Val di Fassa
