The hike to Brunst Alm is a true gem for nature and hiking enthusiasts. The starting point is the Kids World, an idyllic playground that’s perfect for recharging before the ascent. From here, follow trail No. 20B, which leads you along well-marked paths and through dense forests. The hike takes about 2.5 hours and is a sporty challenge, as you’ll be gaining around 800 meters in elevation. Along the way, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys of the Dolomites. It's especially enjoyable to take in the clear streams and unspoiled nature that make this route so special. After a steady climb, you’ll finally reach Brunst Alm, located at an altitude that offers sweeping views of the stunning landscape. Here, you can take a well-deserved break in the cozy hut and fully enjoy the tranquility of the mountains before heading back down.

From Antholz Mittertal (sports area) > to the Eggerhöfe > turn left > follow the foresty road (path n. 6a) > Kumpflalm.

Rural tradition and stunning landscapes

From Gisser Eck in San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund, this hike runs along a sun-spoilt hillside dotted with fascinating glimpses of farm life in the Pusteria/Pustertal valley. On a three-hour hike, this circular trail sets off from the valley bottom and leads through granite-ridden slopes to low mountain plateaus with spectacular views of dense pine forests firmly grappled into the hillside with their widely ramified, deep-reaching roots. Scattered across the glacier-shaped landscapes, quartz phyllite rocks and boulders stick out alongside a number of granite glacial erratics. Many lookout points offer inviting spots for a long break, admiring the panoramic views.
Chosen to describe the tradition each farmhouse was known for, the names of the many widely dispersed farmsteads tell an interesting tale: Decker-Hof is derived from Decke, the German word for blanket, while Perchner-Hof refers to a birch grove, Friesenbühel alludes to a frosty hill, Gatscher Hof describes a badly-cut forest clearance, Hitthaler-Hof is reminiscent of a valley of inns and mountain huts (Hüttental), and Neller-Hof is a shortened reference to the name Cornelius.
From Chienes/Kiens, the trail continues back to San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund through these quaint rural landscapes. There are a number of inns to take a well-deserved break at: Hotel Gassenwirt, Gasthof Pizzeria Petra, and Bonfanti Design Hotel.

From Antholz Niedertal > path n. 15 to the Dörfl > Nösslerhof > Berghotel Johanneshof > and back on the main road to the starting point. 

The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites on account of its distinctive natural features. The unique, legendary atmosphere of Fanes, the flora and fauna of the Dolomites and the stunning scenery all make this hike an unforgettable experience.
From our area, Fanes is reachable from Sciaré/San Cassiano.

Although easy in terms of required hiking skills, its long duration makes this hike a medium-difficult one.Trail numbers: 8 + 4 + 7

The hike to the Astner Bergalm in Terenten starts at the parking lot of the Tiefrastenhütte. From there, follow the "Lerchnweg" trail, which takes you to the alpine hut in about one hour. This pleasant hike involves an elevation gain of approximately 200 meters. The path is well-maintained and leads through a picturesque landscape of meadows and forests. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The Astner Bergalm is a popular destination for families and hikers seeking a leisurely outing in nature. Once at the top, you can indulge in local specialties at the hut and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains.

From Niederrasen (church) > path n. 21 (steep) > Obergoste > Feichter und Breitwiesenhof > Kirmlehof (approx. 10 min. further above Berggasthaus Mudler) > descend on mark n. 20 > path Imberg > Oberstallerhöfe > Niederrasen or Oberrasen.

This easy hike starts at the Oberegger Alm in Geiselsberg. Trail no. 4A gently winds through the landscape to Trattes, with hardly any elevation gain.
A stop at the Oberegger Alm is highly recommended – whether before or after your hike, it's a great place to enjoy some local flavors.

The playground situated in close proximity to nature stretches out over several hundred meters and invites the whole family to test their abilities in the forest playground with its water world and climbing area. Whilst enjoying this, the children breathe the fresh, healthy forest air while simultaneously refreshing and strengthening their brain, their whole being in fact, with oxygen. The play trail is mostly accessible with a pushchair. It is ideal as a place to go for a stroll or longer walk, a stop off point on a day trip to the Pusteria Valley, Lake Braies/Prags or the panoramic walk at Plan de Corones. Starting point is the elementary school in Valdaora di Sopra (street Aue 16), from there crossing the bridge, in about 5 minutes you can reach easily the Kids World.

From the village center Antholz Mittertal (passing the police station) > going up at the Amus Chalets > farm Außerkumpflhof > follow the path to the Kumpflalm hut.

The hike starting at Pizzeria Panorama in Oberolang is ideal for families and nature lovers. From the pizzeria, follow trail No. 22, which takes you through a charming forest area. The path is well-marked and easy to walk, making it suitable for children as well. During the hike, you will cover about 300 meters of elevation gain, and after approximately 45 minutes, you will reach the Angerer Alm. The trail gently ascends, offering beautiful views of the surrounding Dolomites. The Angerer Alm is a perfect spot for a break, where you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and savor local delicacies.This hike provides a wonderful combination of natural experience and light physical activity – perfect for a relaxing day in the mountains!

Leisurely hike from Upper Valdaora along the Lottersteig trail (no. 21B) to the historic “Old Goste” – a charming destination with rustic flair.

PIZ DE PLAIES ADVENTURE TRAIL (H 45 min.)
The Piz-de-Plaies adventure trail is very easy and adorned with various play areas. The route is especially suitable for families with small children, even with prams.
The trail starts at the mountain station of the Piz de Plaies lift on the Col dl'Ancona and passes by Alpinus Agriturism and ends at the summit of Piz de Plaies. Along the trail you will find various stations with games and seating as well as pic nic spots. On Piz de Plaies you will find the Labyrinth as well as the Panoramic Point by Swarovski Optik. You can return along the same path or via the Piz de Plaies circular route.

From Antholz Mittertal (sports area) > in direction Eggerhöfe > before the farm turn right > path 11 > Lake Antholz > circular path around the Lake Antholz > back on path n. 1 on the left of the main road to Antholz Mittertal.

From Antholz Niedertal> mark 6/11 to the Pfaffingerhof and Wiesemannhof > continue on path n. 11 (Franzosensteig) > continue as described above.

Extraordinary art objects have been incorporated into the picturesque backdrop of the Reischach hiking trails, which sometimes only the attentive hiker can discover.

Directions: Outgoing from the Aue Street in V. di Sopra it goes for 3 h over mark 20 up to the Brunst Alp Hut and onwards up to the Kühwiesenkopf/ Franz-Josef Höhe (2140 m). From there begins the descent always over mark 20 to the Lake of Braies. The way back can be done by bus & train. 

San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund butterfly trail

Scattered throughout the sunny hillside between San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund and Terento/Terenten, the local farms have long shaped and fostered the landscape with great care. Colorful meadows in full bloom, scented forests, and plenty of pristine nature – the perfect habitat for butterflies of all kinds and sizes. Along the path, you can learn a lot of interesting information about the butterflies on display boards and rest on original benches.
Before setting off, don't forget to pay a visit to the beautiful Gothic church of San Sigismondo/St. Sigmund. This parish church is one of the most exquisite architectural heritage sites in all of South Tyrol. First mentioned in the records as early as 1363, the current form was built between 1449 and 1489 and is home to one of the oldest and most significant winged altars in the region, which dates back to 1440.
Further on along the trail, many curious sights bear witness to the influence of nature and time: Alongside scores of glacial erratics, the Casteldarne/Ehrenburg Giants are the stuff legends are made of, and legend has it that they used huge rocks to tear down Guggenschlössl Castle, leaving only its ruins as a reminder of wilder times. The ruins of Aschburg Castle, on the other hand, are the only remnants of the former hunting lodge used by the Schöneck hunting gentry. Past the Schiffereggerhof, you return to the starting point.

From Valdaora di Sopra go along the Pustertal cycle path towards the artificial lake and then along the lake in the direction of Monguelfo. The family hike can be made in the summer as well as in the winter!
Should you be too tired for the return by foot, this can also be done by train.

From Niederrasen to Oberrasen > along the river > Bad Salomonsbrunn (5 km).

From Niederrasen or Oberrasen (following the mark n. 4 or 3) > up to Redensberg > take the paths with the marks n. 4, 1a and 17 to Aschbach > Niedristhof (rest station) > earth pyramids (the last stretch is quite steep). To go back to Rasen take the same path on the opposite direction or as an alternative continue until Platten and Oberwielenbach (mark n. 16) and lastly Percha (possibly by bus from Percha to Rasen).

From the Rina sports grounds, a marked trail leads to the Munt da Rina/Welchellener Alm (catering facilities). The Munt da Rina

mountain inn is open during the winter months. Return along the same route.

The walk through the LandArt path is a simple, family-friendly hike through the forests of Falzes/Pfalzen. LandArt is art in nature and with nature - nature is its space. With various materials and techniques the artists create their unique works using what nature offers and integrating artistic notes. This art is temporary, exposed to the weather conditions and changes along with nature.

From the Biathlon center (parking area) > on the "Franzosensteig" marked n. 11 to Vorderpassler > Schwörzalm > Bergeralm > Klammbach waterfall > Eggerhöfe > Antholz Mittertal.

The tour is a beautiful hike above Valdaora-Olang with fantastic views. The tour starts near the Panorama restaurant in Valdaora di Sopra-Oberolang and it goes on the road no. 6 in a constant pitch for "Angerer Albl" and from there to Lanzwiesen Alm mountain hut. Both cottages are managed in the summer and invite you to a traditional specialties. From here then start the scale path (Almsteig) above the treeline to Brunst mountain hut. When you arrive at Brunst hut, which is also farmed in the summer, you stay on the trail 20 and returns to Valdaora di Sopra back to the starting point.

From the hamlet of Ellen, a hike leads to the traditional alpine tavern Walderalm, surrounded by flowering meadows, which invites you to take an enjoyable break with a view on the Bruneck valley basin.
