This circular hike leads from the Kaiserstein parking lot through forest and alpine meadows up to the Christomannos Monument at the Rosengarten. The monument, 2.70 meters tall and weighing 350 kg, was erected in honor of Theodor Christomannos (1854–1911). He is considered a pioneer of tourism in South Tyrol and was particularly committed to expanding the region’s transport network. Among other things, he played a leading role in the construction of the Great Dolomites Road (Bolzano–Cortina–Dobbiaco), the Vinschgau railway, and the Grand Hotel at the Karer Pass. Shortly after his death, the impressive monument at the foot of the Rosengarten was built in his memory – overlooking the majestic Latemar, which makes this place a truly special destination.
