This hike on the eastern edge of the Sella massif, with start in Corvara, is a circular hike with little variation in altitude that presents no great technical difficulties for hikers. Nevertheless, you need to be fit before attempting this hike. The hike is particularly interesting from a geological point of view as it crosses some of the characteristic rock formations of the Dolomites and has some especially interesting viewpoints.
During this hike you can enjoy the fresh air of the forest of La Val up to the Hospice Santa Croce, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the peaks of the Dolomites.
The characteristic rural landscapes of the valley will envelop you during the entire route. You will be immersed in the tranquillity of the area: as you look around you will be able to observe some of the most characteristic "viles" of Val Badia. Viles are the typical widespread rural settlements, composed of several farmhouses.
Continuing along the path, you will reach the Corn plateau, one of the few panoramic points from where you can see the village of San Vigilio on one side, and San Martin with the Pütia mountain in the background, on the other one.

The Ütia Gardenacia hut lies at the eastern end of the Nature Park Puez-Odle over the village of La Villa, in the middle of green meadows dotted with larches. It offers a spectacular view over the villages of Alta Badia and its mountains, such as the Sas dla Crusc, Lavarela and Conturines, while in the distance the Tofane, the Pelmo, the Civetta and the Marmolada can be discerned.
The UNESCO Geotrail crosses in 10 stages the Dolomites of South Tyrol, where the walker will meet some of the nicest and most interesting mountainous group with a wonderful view.
This stage starts from Puez mountain hut to Armentarola.
This relaxed walk does not require any experience or sure-footedness: It runs along an easy path which is also suitable for children.
An extremely enjoyable excursion which, from the La Crusc/S.Croce sanctuary, takes you through the breathtaking Armentara meadows, renowned for their abundance of flowers. The panorama is wonderful with the Sas dla Crusc mountain which soars upwards and the magnificent view which extends from the Marmolada to the Grup dl Sela, from Puez-Odle to Pütia and out over Alta Badia’s verdant valley.
Put on your snowshoes and set off for a magical adventure across the Armentara meadows covered in a soft and white blanket of snow. As soon as you take your first steps on the fresh snow, a unique panorama of the imposing Sas dla Crusc massif will sorround you. Once you reach the La Crusc hut, you can finally enjoy one of the typical Ladin dishes. We also recommend a visit to the highest little church in Europe, which is located just a few steps from the hut.
From Pederoa, you'll immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the landscape. Your journey leads you towards Picedac, where you can behold La Val from an entirely new perspective – a sight that will leave you in awe.
But there's more: Your hike will take you through the charming hamlet of Grones to Costa. Once there, you'll follow the path along the river back to Pederoa, completing this enchanting circle.

Extremely enjoyable excursion which, from San Cassiano/Piz Sorega, crosses the breathtaking meadows of Pralongiá, renowned for their profusion of flowers.The panorama here is spectacular, stretching from the Lavarela to the Lagazuoi summits, from the Marmolada to the Grup dl Sela, from Puez to Pütia and looking to the north, right up to the glaciers of the Central Alps on their border with Austria.
Our village of La Val, known as „Hiking village“, offers several hiking possibilities, of which the most suggestive, and suitable for the whole family, is the one through the Armentara meadows.
After the very first steps, a breathtaking natural scenery will open up right in front of you amidst meadows full of different types of plants such as the wild orchid and gentian, which in spring reach the peak of their flowering.
At this point you will be immersed in our country's best-known landscape. Looking up, you can admire the grandeur of the Sas dla Crusc massif.
Do you want to experience a unique emotion? Find the hut from where you can send greetings to your loved ones by writing a postcard that will be sent twice a year: in spring at the first blossom of the flowers, and in winter when the first snowflake falls.
Continuing on the path through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, you will find yourself in front of the iconic La Crusc/Santa Croce church dating back to 1484. From here, the view expands from the Piz La Ila plateau, to the Marmolada glacier.
The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites on account of its distinctive natural features.

Easy hike through woods and meadows to the farms of Ameto which are located in a beautiful panoramic position.
This hike will take you from San Cassiano to the Malga Valparola alp - closed during summer 2024, a historic site, where the mineral extracted in Livinallongo was transported, melted and transformed into iron. The ruins of the melting furnaces are now abandoned and in pieces. Today, only the German hut’s name “Eisenöfenalm“ (Hut of the Iron Furnaces), serves as a reminder of the economic prosperity, now long gone but once enjoyed by this extraordinarily picturesque place.
The Puez-Odle Nature Park, which has been part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, boasts a fascinating geology. All the rock strata typical of the Dolomites can be found there. The hike, which starts in Colfosco at the southern edge of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, takes you via the Stella Alpina valley and the Puez Plateau right into the heart of the Nature Park. It offers both views of, and insight into, the landscape and history of the Dolomites.
A beautiful snowshoe hike with moderate difficulty and beautiful view on the Dolomites, as well as on the main Alpine ridge and the Rieserferner peaks.
