The walk begins in Niederdorf/Villabassa at Von Kurz Square. From there, it follows well-marked paths towards Aufkirchen/Santa Maria, an idyllic village with traditional houses and magnificent panoramic views. The highest point of the hike is at 1,300 meters, where you can take a break to enjoy the impressive view of the South Tyrolean mountain landscape.
There is now an alternative route for the way back: instead of returning directly to Niederdorf/Villabassa, the path leads via Toblach/Dobbiaco. Here you follow route no. 11B, which descends slightly and runs through forests and meadows. Toblach/Dobbiaco is ideal for a short stopover before returning to Niederdorf/Villabassa via the same route or by public transport. This variant extends the hike and offers additional scenic variety.
With its breath-taking panoramic views in high mountain terrain, the walk from S. Pietro to Rasciesa runs through lush vegetation and across colorful meadows in bloom.
Go along the western shore of the lake to the south-eastern end of the lake, then upwards to Buco del Giavo/Nabiges Loch cross the valley to the other side and to the right to Porta sora al Forn, then slightly downwards to the alpine hut “Rifugio Biella/Seekofelhütte”. This walk dedicated to the minstrel Walther von der Vogelweide runs between Laion, Novale and Albions. In the future there will be information board placed at specific points along the route, on the life and work of this minstrel, to pass on this information to those walking through this beatiful landscape. There are several places to stop for meal or a rest along the route.
The walk begins in the center of Villabassa, at the small historic Spitalkirche (Church), marking the start of a scenic and peaceful route.
From there, the trail leads along the edge of the forest toward the picturesque Mooskirche – with continuous views of the village of Villabassa and the impressive mountain backdrop of the Braies Dolomites.
Once you reach your destination, you’ll find the small Gothic church of St. Magdalena im Moos, also affectionately known as the Mooskirche. The peaceful surroundings and nearby benches invite you to pause, take a deep breath, and soak in the special atmosphere of this tranquil place.
The return path follows a quiet, paved road surrounded by open fields – a relaxing end to this panoramic and gentle walk.

From there, the route descends gently toward Toblach along a quiet road, offering open views of the Upper Puster Valley and the surrounding peaks. The return to Niederdorf is an easy walk along a flat, paved road, perfect for a leisurely finish.

The trail is well-maintained throughout and is ideal for families or leisurely hikers. In Aufkirchen, you reach the highest point of the walk at 1,300 meters. This is a great spot to take a short break and enjoy the view of the South Tyrolean mountains.
From there, the trail gently descends back to Niederdorf, forming a circular route. The entire walk takes about two hours and offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature. It's a perfect way to explore the region without too much effort.

Follow the path to the historic Sinna Mihle, an old mill that still tells the story of life and work in the Puster Valley long ago. At this charming spot, turn right onto the Lanaweg, which takes you on a gentle, flat stretch for about 1.5 kilometers towards Toblach.
Along this section, you can enjoy the peaceful, almost meditative atmosphere – far from the hustle and bustle, accompanied only by the rustling of leaves and birdsong.
The return route leads you through the idyllic Langwiesn– wide, green meadows with open views of the surrounding mountains – back to Villabassa. The trail then closes the loop, bringing you back to your starting point at the volunteer fire department.
This easy yet varied hike is perfect for experiencing the scenic diversity and tranquil beauty of the region in a short time.
From the skislopes “Kameriot” turn left until “Buchsenriedl” and then further down to the alpine hut “Putzalm”. Continue on the trail until Sarlsattel peak. From there, you follow well-marked paths along the scenic Tschachenweg to the St. Magdalena im Moos Church, a peaceful spot perfect for reflection and rest.
The trail then descends back to Niederdorf, passing through the artisan zone, before making a wide loop towards Maistatt and finally returning to Niederdorf.

This Walk leads from Laion to Ceves and up to the Unterpulghütte hut, and from there to Pedrutsch and back along the Poststeig trail. Along the way there are beatiful views of the Dolomites.

Go on the west bank of the lake to the south-east end of the lake, then up into “Buco Giavo/Nabiges Loch”, continue to the “Porta Sora al Forn”, and turn right to the “Törl” and the Rifugio Biella/Seekofelhütte. From Prato Piazza car park along a gravel road to the alpine guesthouse “ Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza”. Between the guesthouse and Hotel Hohe Gaisl turn left on to the wide path (nr. 40) leading through fields in an easterly direction. Hike upwards to the crossing Dolomites Hiking Path no. 3. Now in a northerly direction up the steep, rocky path of the south-western wall of the “Dürrenstein/Picco di Vallandro”, along some turns and continue on gravel to the rocky summit. After a small ridge you'll get to a short section secured with a wire-cable and further to the summit. The walking time is 4 hours. Sign-post: No. 40 Challenge: demanding; vertigo and slip resistance required! Attention: This hike is only suitable for older children with sufficient stamina and hiking experience; it is recommended to secure children with a rope on the section secured with a wire-cable.
