The way back is via Toblach, Camping Olympia and back to Niederdorf.
Very beautiful hike, starting from the parking at the Mount Baranci Valley Station. Go up on the sled run until reaching the Rifugio Gigante Baranci Mountain Hut. Then return to the valley via the Bagni di San Candido Springs.
A peaceful hike accompanied by solitude and silence with a magnificent panorama - an insider tip for nature lovers.
On beautiful sunny days, such a Gsell round is the best, it is a beautiful and slightly challenging round. When the blue of the sky, the green of the meadows and the scent of the trees combine to form a picture, a wonderful harmony and beauty is created.
The Hochebenkofl/Cima Piatta Alta is the second highest mountain in Toblach/Dobbiaco, which can be reached without climbing. From there you can reach the highest mountain without climbing on a very exposed path, the Birkenkofel/Cima del Baranci, in about 15 minutes.
This moderately difficult hike leads up to the Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza, a high plateau at 2,000 m above sea level with a breathtaking view of the Hohe Gaisel/Croda Rossa and the Cristallo.
Beautiful hike from Moos to Froneben with magnificent views of the Sesto Dolomites.
The roundtrack above Dobbiaco/Toblach leads to the quaintly Lachwiesen hut. Nearly at the beginning of the walk you arrive to the fountain "ZweiWasserBrunnen" where you have a beatiful view over Toblach.
A wonderful hike through the larch forests from Sexten to the Innerfeldtal Valley with a direct view of the mountains.
From Prato Piazza car park along a gravel road to the alpine guesthouse “ Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza”. Between the guesthouse and Hotel Hohe Gaisl turn left on to the wide path (nr. 40) leading through fields in an easterly direction. Hike upwards to the crossing Dolomites Hiking Path no. 3. Now in a northerly direction up the steep, rocky path of the south-western wall of the “Dürrenstein/Picco di Vallandro”, along some turns and continue on gravel to the rocky summit. After a small ridge you'll get to a short section secured with a wire-cable and further to the summit. The walking time is 4 hours. Sign-post: No. 40 Challenge: demanding; vertigo and slip resistance required! Attention: This hike is only suitable for older children with sufficient stamina and hiking experience; it is recommended to secure children with a rope on the section secured with a wire-cable. For the most part you are hiking in the sun.
A leisurely walk from Sesto over the Mitterberg/Monte di mezzo to the Gasthof Panorama with a wonderful view of the sundial of Sesto.
Along the way, 14 stations with various texts from the Bible and matching relief carvings invite you to pause for a moment. Both the Lordesstöckl on the way to the forest chapel and the clear fountain at the 9th station of the contemplation trail are always popular with visitors and locals alike.
The history of the forest chapel is interesting: the church, which is almost entirely made of wood, was built around 1917, as the parish church in Sesto was badly damaged during the First World War. For 14 days, the farmers and the priest at the time worked on the church from early in the morning until nightfall. The wood for this came from a hay barn that had been crushed by the snow. In 1917 and 1918, every church service was celebrated there and, especially during the fascist era, the forest chapel served as a hiding place to hold masses in German. Today, the chapel is also known as the Peace Chapel and was restored in 1974. In 1988, at the suggestion of the then parish priest Markus Küer and in collaboration with the Sesto woodcarver Georg Lanzinger, a path of reflection was laid out to the chapel. Near the chapel there are cup stones, which are among the oldest traces of settlement in Sesto and are also the last of the biblical stations along the path of reflection.
An exciting hike through the remote Altensteintal valley past the Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen) with a view of the Zwölferkofel and Einser. There could barely be a more stunning hike.
ATTENTION: Construction work is currently taking place on the path no. 101 in the section from Rif. Pian di Cengia to Rif. Locatelli. It is therefore recommended to bypass this section. This can be done via hiking trail no. 104 in the direction of Rif. Lavaredo or via the via ferrata to Monte Paterno.
A pleasant walk from the Gasthof Panorama to the Rifugio Pendio Monte Elmo/ Helmhanghütte.
This inspiring trail is very popular with guests and locals alike.

Long hike on the path nr. 4, starting from San Candido and passing the Cappella del Bosco Chapel, until reaching the Baita del Cacciatore Mountain Hut. Return on the same route.
22.07. - 06.09.2024: the hiking trail remains closed due to work.
The Three Peaks are the symbol of the holiday region 3 Zinnen in the Dolomites: They belong to the most famous mountains of the Dolomites. The Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. This is a very special accolade that confirms not only the globally unique character and incomparable beauty of this mountainous landscape, but also its integrity.
Probably one of the nicest hikes in the San Candido/Innichen region. Its main attraction is the wonderful peaks of the Sexten Dolomites that tower over the whole of the Innerfeldtal valley. The area is also part of the Drei Zinnen Nature Park and is therefore a place of special beauty and tranquillity. The destination for this hike is the Dreischusterhütte mountain hut, which is open from June to the beginning of October and also has accommodation. The hike is relatively easy with no particularly difficult sections.
An extremely scenic, six-kilometre high-altitude trail that follows old war trails and can also be recommended to less experienced mountain hikers, especially as the ascent can be done by lift and the way back by bus. The good trail leads from the Rotwand meadows, partly at the tree line, partly above it at the foot of vertical rockfalls, almost flat to the Kreuzberg Pass. From the path there are beautiful views of the Carnic ridge and the ice peaks of the Rieserferner group to the north.
Comfortable hike through the beautiful and scenic valley Innerfeldtal. A special feature is the view of the mighty rocky backdrop of the Dreischusterspitze/Punta dei Tre Scarperi.
From the top of the Mount Elmo across the Alta Via Carnica and through wood until Innichen / San Candido.
Leisurely hike on the path nr. 4, starting from San Candido and passing the Cappella del Bosco/Waldkapelle chapel, until reaching Sesto/Sexten.
Tis route is dedicated to Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell, the well-known pioneer of mountaineering and discoverer of the Dolomites of Braies. The easy hike starts at "Ferrara/Schmieden" also suitable for families or older people. Walking time: 1,5 hours Sign-post: No. 1
The Roman path leads from the Ratsberg/Monte Rota, above Toblach/Dobbiaco, along the forest to Welsberg/Monguelfo.
Quite a challenging hike to the Haunoldköpfl panoramic mountain south of San Candido/Innichen. The hiking trail becomes quite steep in some places towards the end. However, when you reach the summit you have a breathtaking view of San Candido that makes all your efforts worthwhile. There is also a section during the climb up where you can catch a glimpse of all three of the Three Peaks.
A leisurely walk from Sesto over the Mitterberg/Monte di mezzo to the Gasthof Panorama with a wonderful view of the sundial of Sesto.
