In half an hour you reach the Passo Costalunga from the car park at the valley station of the Paolina chairlift.

The hike leads from the Passo Costalunga first into the Latemar forest, where the hazel tree grows, which is used especially for the production of string instruments. For this reason, the wood has also been called ‘tonewood’. From the Latemar forest you reach the Lake Carezza, which is considered one of the most magnificent Alpine lakes and is known above all for its deep green water and the beautiful mountain scenery in the background.

Easy hike for the whole family on scenic mountain trails. The highlight of the entire route is a visit to the Christomannos Monument -a bronze eagle, which was built in honor of the tourism pioneer Theodor Christomannos. From there you have a wonderful view over the Val di Fassa and the Val d'Ega as far as the Latemar group.

 

The [E5] trail is the European long-distance hiking trail that leads from Constance over the Alps to Venice. By taking this route, the hiker can experience a small section of this trail. The hikers walk through the typical woods of the high plateau of Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen and Kohlern/Colle. At Rotstein and Rotwand, two panoramic outlook ponts, an overwhelming glance over the Überetsch/Oltradige, Unterland/Bassa Atesina and Etschtal/Val d'Adige is guaranteed.

 

A longer but easy family hike along a forest path with magnificent views of the Rosengarten and Latemar massifs.
The Schiller Hof hut and the Hagner Alm hut invite you to enjoy and linger.

Easy family hike to the church of St. Helena, known for it's late-medieval frescoes, suitable for prams.

Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Queen of Hungary, also known as Sissi, stayed in August 1897 for a long relaxing holiday at the Grand Hotel Carezza. She undertook extensive excursions through the surrounding area. This walk was one of her favorites. In her honor, this walk today is called "Elisabethpromenade". 

This theme trail connects the two star villages of Gummer | S. Valentino and Steinegg | Collepietra. On this varied hike, you can dive into the secrets of the starry sky and the universe together with our mascot LUXI at 7 different stations.
Through an oversized old camera at the beginning of the trail, you start or zoom yourself directly into the universe, so to speak. On the way, you will test a date sundial and a rotating star map, pass the observatory and solar observatory, learn how to orientate yourself in the night sky, children can let off steam in the rocket tree house and finally you will end up at the Mini Star Trail in Steinegg | Collepietra, which is illuminated in the evening in the correct colours of the respective stars.

This easy hike to the Frin meadows offers an unforgettable experience in the midst of the breathtaking Dolomite landscape - a real highlight for nature lovers and connoisseurs.

The tour starts at the Hotel Moseralm. A short, gentle ascent on a forest path leads you to the extensive Frin meadows, which will delight you with their magnificent views of the Latemar Massif, Rosengarten Massif and the Schlern Massif. Depending on the season, the meadows present themselves in a variety of colours: in spring in full bloom, in summer in lush green or in autumn in a riot of colour. The surrounding area invites you to linger and offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the impressive mountain scenery in peace and quiet.

The trail continues at a leisurely pace towards the Nigerstraße | Via Nigra. On the way, you will pass the cosy Ochsenhütte hut, which invites hikers to take a well-earned rest with regional specialities. The way back is via an idyllic forest path that gently leads you back to the Hotel Moseralm.

A pleasant roundtrip hike through the forest and along meadows, surrounded by nature, leads you to the always opened huts Laab, Neuhütt and Petersberger Leger. The huts invite you to stop off and taste typical south tyrolean food.

Starting from the pilgrimage place Maria Weissenstein a pleasant trail leads across high forests and pastures, wonderful panorama included.

The easy hike through woods and meadows leads to the Häusler Sam hut, which is situated on a meadow surrounded by forest. The trail brings hikers close to the alpine nature of the "Sam Hill". A stop at the Häusler Sam hut is worthwhile to taste one of the many typical dishes of South Tyrolean cuisine, to rest on the lawn or to admire the many animals such as llamas, donkeys, cows or ponies.

Set off on an enchanting summer hike through shady forests and blooming meadows to the prehistoric site of Enzbirch. The trail leads you through a vibrant summer landscape, where birdsong and the scent of herbs and flowers awaken your senses.
Enzbirch is a vegetation-covered hill that holds the remains of an ancient fortification. Here, you can step back in time and soak up the unique atmosphere of this historic site.
At the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Adige Valley. In summer, the landscape is lush and green, and the clear air offers stunning vistas of the valley and surrounding mountains.

This ideal family hike leads along a comfortable forest path to the Messnerjoch hut,
from where you have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain ranges. For the little ones there is a great children's playground and a petting zoo.

The fairy tale lake of the Dolomites, Lake Carezza is a colourful lake where, according to legend, a water nymph lives and in whose crystal clear waters the Dolomite giants Latemar and Catinaccio are reflected in the morning and evening. Lake Carezza amazes many visitors! It is also called Lec de Ergobando - rainbow lake.
The 300 m long and 140 m wide Lake Carezza rests below the Latemar massif at the edge of the Latemar forest in the municipality of Nova Levante at the little village of Carezza at 1,520 m in the Val d'Ega. It is a protected natural monument and is fed by underground springs from the Latemar mountain, which is why both its size and its depth are strongly dependent on the season and the weather - the greatest depth of Lake Carezza was recorded at 22 m.

This worthwhile forest hike provides countless panoramic views of the Alpine mountain chain.

Depending on your preference, you can start this hike in San Cipriano-Tires, at the Passo Nigra or directly at the Malga Frommer hut. Always follow the hiking trail [1A], which leads at the foot of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio below the street Via Nigra.

This beautiful hike leads from the legendary Lake Carezza over the new suspension bridge trough the Passo Costalunga/ Karerpass, from where you hike across the mountain meadows at the foot of the Catinaccio/ Rosengarten to the Frommer Alm hut.

This ideal family hiking trail leads you from Obereggen through the "Karerwald" forest to the legendary Lake Carezza. The hike can also be walked from the village of Ega or in the opposite direction from Lake Carezza.

Easy family circular hike to the farms of Petersberg/Monte San Pietro, suitable for prams.

The lake of a thousand colours, Lake Carezza in Val d'Ega is the famous fairytale lake of the Dolomites, where, according to legend, a water nymph lives and in whose crystal clear waters the Catinaccio and Latemar are reflected. Lake Carezza changes colour, which is why it is also known as Lec de Ergobando - Rainbow lake.

Easy family hike from Eggen/Ega to the farms "Egg" with the possibility for refreshments.

This easy hike through the wooded plateaum leads to two fantastic and very unique panoramic outlook-points with a beautiful view to the Adige Valley.

The many farm animals and a great playground make the hike an unforgettable event, especially for the children! But the leisurely family hike to the Stadl Alm hut, at the foot of the two mountain giants Rosengarten and Latemar is also an absolute must because of the fabulous view of the Dolomite mountains!
For refreshment, you can expect seasonal and farm products, hearty game dishes and traditional dishes from the South Tyrolean cuisine.

This tour through the heavily forested uplands of Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente offers a lot of different scenery and leads to the Wölflhof, where people can stop off.

A short hike leads from Lake Carezza over the suspension bridge through the village of Carezza to the Passo Costalunga.

This route leads across forests and meadows to different huts, which invite to relax. While doing so, typical south tyrolean food can be tasted.

This hike leads through the famous Latemar forest. At the "Radura di Mezzo" it is wonderful to linger, while at the mountain cinema on the Latemar meadows you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Dolomite mountain Catinaccio/ Rosengarten.

This hike, suitable for the whole family, leads from Obereggen through the Karerwald forest to the emerald-green Lake Carezza and on to the Passo Costalunga.
