Safety and fun on the move
Cycling is environmentally friendly and healthy. However, some ground rules need to be observed to make cycling both safe and fun.
Any bike tour begins with a plan. Find out about the exact route and check the weather forecast. When you opt for a tour, consider your fitness level in terms of the climbs and length involved. You should do a quick check of your bike before you head off: the brakes and tyre pressure need to be checked before each tour. It is also advisable to pack a small rucksack with a wind- and rain-resistant jacket, some provisions, your phone, a cycle map and a torch for emergencies. When cycling on roads, always leave a sufficient safety distance to other vehicles and the roadside.
