Holidays on the Ritten mountain
The local mountain of Bolzano/Bozen with panoramic views, hikes and the Rittner Horn ski area
The local mountain of South Tyrol's capital city is easy to ascend with the Rittnerbahn cable car, providing a fantastic, 360° view of Dolomite peaks, hikes from vineyards all the way up to 2,200 m, and the earth pyramids, a unique natural phenomenon. Holidaymakers will find extremely varied vegetation and innumerable active options on the sunny high plateau due to the different high altitudes: the spectrum ranges from simple strolls to farmhouse taverns to skiing in the Rittner Horn ski area. A ride with the narrow-gauge railway is a particularly rewarding experience. It was built in 1907 to connect the villages of Maria Himmelfahrt/Maria Assunta, Oberbozen/Soprabolzano, Wolfsgruben/Costalovara, Lichtenstern/Stella di Renon, and Klobenstein/Collalbo.
