The blue sky reflects on the sparkling mountain lake, while in the background the glaciers of the Rieserferner group and the Hochgall mountain majestically rise up. The winter hike to the picturesque Koflersee lakes is just one of the 80 three-thousanders valley’s highlights. Many recreational hiking trails lead to an untouched landscape and lookout points over a mighty mountain scenery in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. The Tauferer Ahrntal/Val di Tures is one of the most quaint and snow-sure valleys in South Tyrol. Moreover, it is home to mountaineering legend Hans Kammerlander and alpinist Simon Gietl. Romantic hiking trails to remote places like the St. Spirit pilgrimage church at the head of the valley, once a miners' church. An easy hiking trail for children and adults leads from Weißenbach/Rio Bianco to the Wurmtal valley Alpine pastures.
