From the head of the valley in S. Maddalena/Val Casies Valley (1465m), hike uphill alongside the ski slope, passing the Hackler farms, until you reach the Ampfertal farmhouse. Following the signs for trail No. 10, which also indicates "Ascht," you will reach the Aschtalm (1950m, refreshment possible) in 1 hour and 15 minutes
