Trailrunning in Vals: heights, views, and alpine huts

The 13.5-kilometre trail-running route in Vals combines alpine challenges with extensive views. With 912 metres of elevation gain, the route is suitable for experienced runners looking for a sporting challenge. Highlights include the Peachenjöchl and the Fane Alm.

Itinerary

The starting point is the parking lot at the Jochtal valley station at 1,374 metres. From there, follow trail no. 10 towards Nockalm. Via Valler Jöchl at 1,931 metres, the route continues along trail no. 9 to the Rotenstein High Trail. You then reach Peachenjöchl at 2,203 metres, the highest point of the route.

The descent leads to Fane Alm at 1,739 metres. From there, follow the Milk Trail no. 17 back to the Jochtal valley station, the finishing point of the tour.

Directions

From Mühlbach, follow the SP149 towards Vals. At the junction for Vals, turn off and follow the road through the valley to the village. From there, continue further into the valley to the parking lot at the Jochtal gondola valley station, the starting point of the tour.
