Long-Distance Hiking Paths

Long distance hike 6th stage: Refuge Oberettes - Mals

Matsch/Mazia, Mals/Malles, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
from center
The path from the Oberetteshütte via the "Tabernackel" up to the highest point "little Tibet" to the "Saldur" lakes may be strenuous but is worth every effort. The view is magnificent and the silence and untouched nature is good for you. Follow trail no. 4 over the highest lake plateau in the Alps past several small and large Saldur lakes. After the last lake, the trail descends steeply to the end of the valley to the lush meadows of the old "Matscher Alm". Here you can hike along the "Hearasteig" trail through the larch forest or take the easier forest path.

Hiking bus no. 281 runs regularly from the "Glieshof" to the mountaineering village of Matsch and from there you can take the city bus down to Mals and the end of the tour.
Itinerary
