The König Laurin Tour combines thrilling e-biking with scenic hiking through the breathtaking Dolomite landscape. Starting comfortably in Obereggen, you rent an e-bike and cycle through charming villages and lush forests to Welschnofen. From there, modern cable cars take you up to stunning alpine meadows and peaks offering spectacular panoramic views. The hike continues along well-maintained mountain trails to cozy huts and unique lookout points, rewarding every step. The tour concludes with a visit to the legendary Karer Lake and its impressive suspension bridge. This diverse experience is perfect for nature and mountain lovers seeking adventure, exercise, and unforgettable vistas.
Itinerary
Start in Obereggen at the bike rental Siegfried and take the SP 76 road through Städtl to Eggen (trail [72]). From there, follow the SS 241 road for 2.5 km to Welschnofen. Return your e-bike at Sport Laurin or Bike Rent Service in Welschnofen. Continue with the Welschnofen cable car to Frommeralm and then take the König Laurin I & II cable cars up to the Kölner Hut / Laurins Lounge. Hike the Hirzelsteig trails ([549] & [552]) to Paolina Hut and enjoy the view. Continue on trail [539] to the bronze Christomannos monument, then return to the Paolina chairlift. Take the chairlift down to Karersee. Follow trail [6] past Pension Simhild over the suspension bridge to Karer Lake. After the lake loop on trail [10], return over the bridge and turn left on trail [6] toward the mill, then trail [16] to the Tschein chairlift. Take the chairlift up to Tscheinberg for panoramic views. Return with the cable car to Welschnofen and then take bus line 184 back to Obereggen.
