This easy hike starts in San Cassiano and takes you through a winter wonderland of magical beauty.
The view from the Pralongiá plateau is unique, with a 360° panorama of some of the most beautiful peaks in the Dolomites: from the Marmolada glacier to the Sella massif, from the Fanes group to the peaks on the southern edge of the Puez-Odle Natural Park, such as the Sassongher and Sass de Pütia.
The hike starts in San Cassiano/Armentarola (bus stop). Head south-east on trail no. 18 through the forest and then gently upwards following signs to Pralongiá.
Trail no. 24A takes you across a meadow with a slight incline up to the edge of the forest. Here you continue along the Val de Störes valley to the same named meadows (walking time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes) and up to the Störes ridge.
From the ridge, you continue along the same trail going gradually downhill to the Pralongiá high plateau and mountain hut.
The descent follows the same route.
Follow the SS244 Val Badia road towards La Villa and continue on road SS37 to San Cassiano.
