On the Watles mountain circular hike, you can spend a few pleasant hours on a nice round tour around the Watles mountain. This is a slightly longer hike and is therefore perfect for a day of hiking. This tour also includes wonderful views of the Upper Venosta Valley basin, the lake plateau on the Resia Pass and the Slingia Valley.
Itinerary
This tour begins at the Watles valley station (1750m) in Prämajur and starts on trail no. 3 in the direction of San Valentino alla Muta. This trail splits and trail no. 3A leads us on to our first stopover - the Brugger Alm alpine pasture (1914m). On the way to the Brugger Alm alpine pasture you can already see the deep blue of the Haidersee and Reschensee lakes. You can stop off at the Brugger Alm alpine pasture before continuing to the Oberdörfer Alm (2057m). You can reach this after a good half hour from the Brugger Alm alpine pasture. We continue along hiking trail no. 8, which takes us towards the Slingia valley. On this path we pass the Oberdörfer Alm and the wall "Auf dem Mäuerle" (2338m). We then take path no. 8A, which leads us to the Plantapatsch mountain hut (2150m). On this path you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Slingia Valley. Once you arrive at the Plantapatsch mountain hut, you can also take a break if you wish. The descent to our starting point in Prämajur now takes us back along hiking trail no. 3, passing the Höfer Alm alpine pasture (2066m).
Bus line 277 takes us directly to the hamlet of Prämajur, through the village of Burgusio to the Slingia road, past the Marienberg monastery and then turn right to Prämajur.
