Itinerary

From the tourist office in Monguelfo (1087m), follow Via Stazione in the direction of the ring road and meet the bike path toward Brunico. Follow the bike path and after 200m turn right through the railroad underpass and continue on Trail No. 57 to the hamlet of Ried and through the forest to the Walde Alm hut (1405m, refreshment stop). Possibility to extend the hike to the Gailerhof along trail No. 39 to Monguelfo (day trip).

How to get there

Directions

Coming from Innsbruck/Brennero (A): Drive on the Highway of Brennero (A22) until the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 58kms until you arrive in Monguelfo.
Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Monguelfo.
