The Mesules is legendary: it is one of the oldest via ferratas in the Dolomites (1912) as well
as one of the most demanding in the area.
On this exposed and very steep via ferrata, surefootedness is non-negotiable: it is suitable only for experienced climbers. The sun does not
reach this ferrata in the mornings. It is a strenuous mountain tour which develops along a
charming yet long descent over the Sella plateau. Avoid it if the weather is not absolutely
perfect.
Access: it takes about 30 minutes from Passo Sella (2,240 m) on path no. 649, heading NE, below the Sella’s towers. The access point is located below a black wall.
Descent: from Piz Sëlva to Piz Miara (2,964 m), descend south-east on a path towards Val Lasties (path no. 649, 647). At the end of Val Lasties, at the last bend of the road, descend 100 m to
the bus stop to Passo Sella.
