Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi) spent her summer holiday at the Grand Hotel Carezza in 1897. Her favourite walk was dubbed the ‘Elisabeth Promenade’, and is marked with a monument in her memory.
The route leads from the bus stop centre in Welschnofen | Nova Levante (1,156 m) on trail [7] to the Meierei tavern (1,556 m). It then leads to the Pitschöler Hof, Ladritscher Hof and Sohler Hof farms on trail [6] and than trial [3] until to the Elisabeth monument (1,566 m). Continue on trail [3] and [3B] to the Rosengarten hotel (1,320 m) and then back to Nova Levante.
An alternative route leads from the Paolina valley station bus stop in Carezza/Karersee on trail [6] to the Meierei tavern (1,556 m). It then continues via trail [6] to the Pitschöler Hof, Ladritscher Hof and Sohler Hof farms. Than on trail [3] to the Elisabeth monument (1,566 m). To return to Nova Levante, take trail [3] and [3B] back to the Rosengarten hotel (1,320 m).
