At the Head of the Valley in Gsiesertal Valley – St. Magdalena at 1465 m (refreshments available, paid parking), you'll find the parking area where the hike begins. Follow trail no. 49 into the valley, passing the wood turner's workshop, and continue straight into the forest. After an hour of walking, you'll reach the destination, the Messnerhütte hut at 1660 m. Refreshment stop
Recommended:
Hiking boots with good grip, high-quality socks to prevent blisters, weather-appropriate clothing, rain jacket, rain protection, dry T-shirt and sun protection (sunscreen/hat).
Pay attention to stay hydrated on hot days – always carry enough water in your backpack! In higher altitudes, summer storms can quickly become dangerous – check the weather forecast in advance and plan your tour carefully. Also a first aid kit should always be carried!
