From Auer / Ora to the viewpoints Rotwand and Burgstallegg. An unforgettable tour with many highlights, two ruins, great viewpoints, a biotope and a natural swimming lake.
Itinerary
From the centre of Auer/Ora, the so-called Gassenlabyrinth, via the Katzenleiter (waterfall!) towards Aurer Schlossberg with the ruined remains of the former castle Leiterburg. Continue via Karnol and the Lahnweg (no.1). Keep to the left at the junction with trail no. 10 A. Continue to the Burgstallegg ruins, the first impressive vantage point. Take trail no. 17 to the Göllersee lake (circumnavigation possible). In around 20 minutes to the Rotwand vantage point with a wonderful view of the Etschtal valley and the Adamello, Brenta and Ortler mountain ranges. The same way back to Auer.
Special features: Burgstallegg: mysterious and legendary prehistoric sites from pre-Roman times; Göller See: in the middle of the pine forest. Untouched by human hand. Next to it the biotope "Bigleider Moos"; Waterfall: from the Schwarzenbach Gorge, about 50 metres high; Katzenleiter: section of path with about 700 steps, probably from pre-Roman times. Best season: spring, autumn
