In addition to the quaint coziness and dreamlike location, it’s the culinary expertise of Franz Pernthaler that has made gastronomes the world-over recommend the Schatzer Lodge. The excellent menus, prepared every evening by the lodge’s chef for the guests, have to be compared with, but do not pale in comparison to, those that the majority of the so-called gourmet restaurants offer their diners. And thus the chef ‘de Cuisine’ daily conjures up new Lucullian marvels based on traditional Tyrolean cuisine, and thereby is the freshness of his ingredients particularly close to heart.
