Alpine hike to Rieserferner Hut

Variant 1 – from Antholz Obertal:
The starting point is the parking area at the material cable car of Rieserferner Hut in Antholz Obertal.

From there, follow trail no. 4 to Schwörzalm hut and then continue on trail no. 3 towards Gemsbichljoch.

Crossing the pass, you reach Rieserferner Hut (2,791 m).

Variant 2 – from Antholz Mittertal:
The starting point is the parking area at the festival ground in Antholz Mittertal. From there, the path leads to the Eggerhöfe farm and then climbs to the right towards Bergeralm hut.

Follow trail no. 3, which first crosses alpine pastures and later leads through increasingly alpine terrain up to Gemsbichljoch.

From the pass, the hut can be reached in a short time.

Options from the hut:

• Descent to Rein in Taufers via trail no. 3
• Further high-alpine tours to several 3,000-metre peaks such as peak Fernerköpfl (3,249 m), peak Magerstein (3,273 m) or peak Schneebiger Nock (3,356 m)

These summit tours require alpine experience, glacier equipment and appropriate skills.
